THE APPLICATION CHECKLIST

The application itself is divided into three sections. Below is the information that will be required in the application. Please note the application requires the completion of 2 essay questions. It is recommended that you have the essays completed prior to starting the application process. Given the high volume of applications at deadline, it is a good idea to submit a few days prior to the deadline to prevent any submission delays.
1. Personal Information

Requires you to provide basic contact details, including your email address, phone number, mailing address, etc. Requires you to provide information about your past school, degree, and specialization. Requires you to indicate the medical/dental school you are currently attending.
2. Extracurricular Activities

Requires you to provide information on your volunteer, internship and paid work experience.
3. Essay Questions

Requires you to answer two essay questions. Your essay answers will be judged based on a combination of the following: - Creativity/originality - Clarity of thought and communication of arguments - Persuasiveness - Potential positive impact - Grammar and spelling Please remember not to include any personal information such as names, addresses or schools attended in your essays.

Some make helping others a hobby while others make it a career. Describe how your background, values and leadership skills have prepared you to help others as a medical doctor or dentist?
Essays Question 2

Canadas cultural diversity means helping people requires understanding their diverse background and needs. How will our cultural diversity play a role in your service delivery as a medical doctor or dentist?
Application Scoring

1) The scoring percentage breakdown for individual applications is as follows: Extracurricular Activities: 45% of total score Essay Answers: 55% of total score 2) You will be required to review and accept the Scholarship Terms and Conditions on the application form. 3) If you are under 17, your parent or legal guardian must review the Scholarship Terms and Conditions and conrm acceptance on your behalf.

Upon completion of the application, a conrmation e-mail will be sent to you within 24 hours. If you do not receive a conrmation email within 24 hours or require additional information on Safe Senders Lists, please email us at rbc_scholarships@usupport.net.
