Jesus knew that one day He would return to His home in Heaven, so He needed to find some people who could continue His work when He was gone.

Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee when He saw two brothers, Simon and Andrew. As they were throwing their fishing nets into the sea, Jesus said to them, Come, follow Me and I will make you fishers of men!

Jesus saw two more brothers, James and John. They were also fishermen. Jesus called them and they immediately left their boat and followed Him.

Later, Jesus saw a man named Matthew collecting taxes for Rome. Jesus said to him, Follow Me! and Matthew left everything and followed Jesus.

Jesus called twelve men to be His disciples. They were: Simon Peter, Andrew, James, John, Phillip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alpheus, Simon, Thaddeus, and Judas.
