Sunlight is a constant, continual power source providing 89 Petawatts (89 x10 15 W) of free power onto the earths surface
With todays technology, converting solar energy into usable DC power is considered renewable and a true green power source
Tapping into this boundless energy will help reduce the dependency on fossil fuels.
There are no pollutants or harmful by-products created during the solar conversion process.
A well installed solar array can have an operation life of between 30 and 40 years.
There is virtually no operational or maintenance costs involved in generating solar power. That means CAPEX payback times can be as short as 2 years, depending on site.
Many regions have renewable energy initiative programs and tax benefits.
The Flatpack2 HE Solar Solution is the ideal choice for telecom sites that need an autonomous power solution. Based on HE (High Efficiency) technology, the Eltek Valere Solar Charger maximizes the power transfer with a > 96% operating efficiency, combined with an effective MPPT program. The charger also provides full galvanic isolation between solar panels and the telecom equipment/ batteries, thus providing a high level of surge protection and reliability.
The Eltek Valere HE Solar Charger is part of the Flatpack 2 family, thus can be fully integrated with Flatpack 2 HE rectifiers to provide a complete Solar Hybrid solution. The complete site is monitored with the Eltek Valere Smartpack controller, which provides remotely monitored and controlled, ensuring maximum operation and efficiency. The Smartpack features also include advance battery monitoring routines, as well as gen-set optimisation programs and considerable data logging options.

> Advanced Battery monitoring routines > Gen-set optimization programs > Remote site monitoring and control options > Configurable data logging options > Password protection and site cloning features
In addition, there are other OPEX cost factor to consider, such as : > > > Cost to re-supply the fuel More frequent Gen-set maintenance and replacement program Possibility of fuel theft
And of course, the continuous negative environmental impact that running diesel Gen-sets cause.
You can reduce your OPEX cost and your environmental impact by reducing how long you run your Gen-set and instead, use some of the stored energy in the batteries. One of the standard features in the Eltek Valere Smartpack controller is the option for the user to define when the Gen-set should be running. This can be based on system float voltage or time of day (or month).
Not only do you get a fuel saving by only running the Gen-set when the batteries need charging, but you also will be running the gen-set at a higher load, thus getting more usable power per litre. And with the possibility of reducing the Gen-set operating time by up to 60%, that would mean 60% less emissions exhausted into the environment.
