RECENT FOURTEEN YEAR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE - THE AMERICAN RED CROSS The American Red Cross, an International humanitarian agency dedicated to allevi ating suffering in times of war, renders medical and other emergency assistance to people afflicted by disasters, and performs other public services including c ommunity health, safety and preparedness activities. PROGRAMS AND SERVICES OFFICER (PSO) *Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as Program and Service s Officer (PSO) I am responsible for all programs and services related to the da y-to-day management of fundraising and Financial Development, Social Services, C ommunity Education and Volunteer programs including youth and AmeriCorps members . I provide on-site and off-site direction and supervision for the activities o f both paid and volunteer staff aimed at the successful performance of the goals of the American Red Cross as congressionally mandated. *I write and select grant development, negotiate grant execution and research ph ilanthropic advancement programs by sourcing and leveraging external funding opp ortunities. The position also requires the planning, submitting, and monitoring of external grant applications for our specified Red Cross programs and strategi c partners. This year we secured $268,000.00 in grants. *My office is responsible for the financing of all Red Cross programs and servic es, and monitoring their expenses and revenues to assure compliance within appro ved budgets and procedures. Our nationally recognized celebrity-based Red Tie ev ent last year successfully raised $350,000.00 and was covered by PEOPLE, Newswee

k, US, Glamour, E!entertainment, ABC, FOX, CBS, etc. *One of my most important jobs is to cultivate and develop strong working relati onship with external partners both community & corporate, and represent the Red Cross in a broad manner, including public speaking engagements, radio, internet and television media communication. I represent the Red Cross to city, state, an d federal community services, external committees and task forces. In the last t hree years we have cultivated new or enhanced business alliances with ABC, Disne y, Raytheon, MTV Network, RAND, Edwards.com, Universal Films, and Lions Gate. L AUSD and SMMUSD are two of our most influential partners in school programs & se rvices. PREVIOUS POSITION AS DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICES *I was responsible for the second largest Red Cross Community Services, Home & W orkplace Health and Community Education programs in the nation and effectively b uilt relationships with multiple corporations, LAUSD, independent schools, and o ther funding and program partners. Our outreach extended to 54 communities, and produced revenues that exceeded $6 million, employed a paid staff of 71 and a vo lunteer staff of nearly 500. * My departments exceeded revenue and outreach goals in all fourteen (14) primar y units of operation for over six consecutive years (FY01 thru FY07). *My office instituted a recruitment and retention campaign that increased active volunteer staff 234% (from 197 to a record high of 461) *We substantially upgraded and enhanced district office efficiencies, and built multiple corporate partnerships that broadly increased our outreach programs and improved district office revenue 180% from $839,743 to $1,512,216 while decreas ing budgeted expenses 6%.
