JOB HISTORY May 1981-Dec 23rd 2010 Alleghany Warehouse Company Richmond, VA Nation's la rgest independently owned tobacco storage facility that started in 1867. Curren tly Alleghany is a bulk commodities/logistic warehouse which is closing early 20 11. 1998 to 2010 Audit/Quality Control Manager: * Insured the accuracy and quality of physical inventory (valued at over $800 mi llion) contained in over 70 warehouses (2,200,000 units contained in over 3,300, 000 square feet). * Attained 100% accuracy on all scheduled and unscheduled 3rd party audits. * Formulated a detailed row capacity spreadsheet of all warehouses by various co ntainer types. * Supervised and implemented the complete restructuring of the warehouse tagging system. * Supervised Assistant Auditor, while reporting directly to company Vice Preside nt. * While reporting all discrepancies, achieved a significant reduction in found e rrors through continued education and efficiency with supervisors. * Provided documented summaries of physical counts to customer representatives. * Created new computerized forms (for use by warehouse personnel in the reportin g and tracking of inventory). * Assisted in writing new company procedure manuals, in conjunction with custome r's procedures for ISO 9000 certification. * Managed supervisors' daily activity computerized summary. * Performed administrative functions of the Facilities/Purchasing Manager during his absence(including purchasing and requisitions). 1992 to 1997 Senior Inventory Administrator (Imports): * Performed all data entry and all paperwork for computerized inventories of 40 warehouses in Richmond, Virginia as well as 35 warehouses located in North Carol ina. * Handled scheduling of in bound import container shipments, involving communica tion and coordination with customs brokers, steamship lines, USDA, trucking comp anies, import representatives as well as the Port Director's office. * Provided the Customs Port Director with proprietary paperwork such as CBP 300, and letters written for the suspension/activation of the bond on various wareho uses. * Worked with the following Customs forms at the Proprietary level: 300, 3461, 3499, 7501 and 7512, while maintaining permit and duplicate file folders for all entry #s. * Processed all Customs paperwork from the various brokers relating to Bonded Wa rehousing (including ocean freight bills and packing lists, while assuming respo nsibility for company's compliance with Customs Bonded Warehousing regulations; as well as the structuring of a computerized Customs record keeping system using new Excel software.

* Created a spreadsheet (used by customer to this day) documenting status of all in bound deliveries. * Updated Multiplan spreadsheets for inventory tracking, progressing to Lotus 12 3 and Paradox, then Excel, FoxPro and SAP systems as company computers were upda ted. * Performed reconciliation with company's accounting department, and customers' Finance personnel. * Assisted in formulating Fox Pro Inventory system, (designed by I.T. profession al) * Created new forms for company use, (with new Excel software), while creating a computerized bonded tagging system for use in the warehouses. * Assisted Vice President in revising imported product procedures. * Managed Reidsville, North Carolina storage facility's operations for three wee ks during the Vice President's absence. 1988 to 1991 Scale House Operator: * Handled paperwork involving all shipping and receiving information as related to trucks. Kept daily tracking of all trucks in and out of the complex, informe d work personnel of truck arrivals, and turned this position into an extension o f the Inventory Administrator's responsibilities. * Weighed trucks using scale equipment in compliance with customer's procedures and Virginia Department of Weights & Measures' regulations. 1983-1987 Inventory Administrator: * Prepared the initial filing system for Customs paperwork per new Customs requi rements for warehouse proprietors. * Maintained inventory for imported product, using company's first computer soft ware (Multiplan), while typing invoice (billing) information to send to Accounti ng. * Worked on various warehousing crews, gaining valuable warehousing experience a s well as physical inventory auditing experience. 1981 to 1982 Office Support: * Assisted Inventory Administrators in processing paperwork for customer's shipp ing requests, product received, and updated manual perpetual records (before com puters). * Assisted accounting with balancing and posting to general ledger, cutting chec ks, and filing, (before computers). * Answered phones and customer requests, and helped in any general office duties as assigned by management, gaining valuable experience and earning the reputati on as a quick learning, efficient worker who needs no supervision.
