SYLLABUS FACULTY OF LAW


Introduction to Law (3 Credits) This course discusses about the legal problem in the scope of introduction to law, the understanding of law, legal classification, the benefits of studying law, social norms, the purpose and function of the law as well as of the sect in the science of law. Introduction to Indonesian Law (3 Credits) This course discusses the basic understanding of positive law in Indonesia such as Civil Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, International Law and others. Theory of State (2 Credits) This course discusses about the position and status of the theory of State in the scope of the statesmanship and gives the basic understanding to study Constitutional Law. Sociology (2 Credits) Sociology as the social science gives theory, concept and method in regard to the social interaction. The theory, concept and method are adopted by Sociology Law as the branch of Sociology. Introduction of Economics (2 Credits) This course discusses about the economy and its symptoms, demand, supply, the law of diminishing returns, national income and social behavior in regard to income and multiplier, acceleration principle, inflassionary gap, conjuncture, futures market and economic terms. Indonesian Language (2 Credits) This course discusses about the principal language that includes the history of Indonesian language, attitude, oral speech and writing, spelling and the use of the consummated guidelines spelling of Indonesian language year of 1972. Dutch (2 Credits) In this part, the students are prepared for the master the legal terms in the area of Introduction to Law. Basic Cultural Science (2 Credits) This course analyses the problems of humanity and culture by using derived understanding from the development of science such as, language, law, art, folklore and history without bound with the other studies.

Christian Religion Education (2 Credits) Religious Education in the university aims to assist and build the faith of students in God, to act nationally and dynamic, intelligent, think philosophy, think broad, and participate in the cooperation congregation of the religious people I order to develop knowledge of science, technology and art on behalf of human and nation. English (2 Credits) This course aims to train students to understand the English language text, which includes the knowledge of tenses, active and passive voice, direct and indirect speech, conjunctions, clause, vocabularies and comprehension, either in a positive, negative or interrogative sentence. Development Economic (2 Credits) This course discusses about the development problem and analysis of development economic, natural resources, citizen and labor, capital, entrepreneur, the phases of development economic, inflation, development and common difficulties in the development economic. Pancasila (2 Credits) Pancasila is the key source of all the law in Indonesia. This unit discusses about what Pancasila can bring to the science and law that can be implemented in the social interaction. Basic of Sociology Science (2 Credits) This course focuses on gives theory, concept and method in regard to the social interaction that have impact to the development of law in the area of society and neighborhood. Citizenship Studies/State Defense (2 Credits) This course discusses about the knowledge and basic ability of citizen in relation to their country, includes rights and duties to defend the country. The study of citizenship contents of the basic introduction to the citizenship study such as, rights and duties of citizen, introduction study of defend country, Indonesian Democracy, Human Rights, Global Knowledge, State Defense, Politic and national strategy. Cultural Antropology (2 Credits) This course discusses about the human and its culture, behaviour, the way of thinking, and the way of living. Legislation Knowledge (2 Credits) This course discusses about the basic terms of the regulation in Indonesia, includes, the kinds of legislation in Indonesia, how to make legislation until it come in force. Customary Law (2 credits) This course gives the perspective about the customary law in the law system in Indonesia that includes the kinds, terms of customary law as well as the object of it. Islamic Law (2 Credits) This course discusses about the fundamental framework of Islamic beliefs, the knowledge of figh and syariah, the sources of Islamic Law, the principles, the history as well as the position of Islamic law in the national law in Indonesia.

Law and Authority Privilege /Law and Human Rights (2 Credits) Human rights are the rights that owned by human since his birth or since his existence in the society. From this condition, human needs to get the chance to develop himself as what he wants without ignoring the cultural society and the existing norms in the society. Civil Law (3 Credits) This course discusses the importance of regulation that manage the relation between one society to other society as well as between one another individual in the social interactions. Criminal Law (3 Credits) This course discusses about the basic theories of Criminal Law that includes to what extent of behavior that is worth to be penalized, the responsibility of penalty and sanction that can charged to the crimes. Constitutional Law (3 Credits) This course discusses about the state institutions, their duties and functions and the relation between one institution to another institution as well as the rights and duties of citizenship. Public Administration Law (3 Credits) This course has an object that is called executive power. This course focuses on the responsibility and rights of the government as the executive power in order to run their function in the concept of modern country. International Law (3 Credits) This course discusses about the basic principles of public international law, such as, the history and the development of International Law and International Organization, as well as its existence in the national law in Indonesia. Agrarian Law (3 credits) This course discusses about the importance of understanding the terms, philosophy, and basic principles that is contained within the principles of Agrarian Law, as the reason and stepping-stones to understand the sections in Agrarian Legislation in Indonesia (Agrarian Legislation No. 5/1960) as well as to overcome the land issues. Method of Law Research (2 Credits) This course focuses on to develop the knowledge of Student in doing research by understanding the principles of writing and understanding what kind of methods that is suitable to use in making a research. This also encourages student to understand how to use law journals and to gain legal sources from the reliable and existing legal source. Criminal Law Procedure (4 credits) This course discusses about the aspects inside the Criminal procedures, started from the beginning of criminal until the supervision and observation of the implementation of the court verdict. Civil Law Procedure (4 Credits) This course discusses the aspects inside the Civil law procedures, started form the inside civil matters and the importance of effective and efficiency lawsuit from the function of Civil Law Procedure.

State Administration Court Law Procedure (2 Credits) This course discusses about the entire aspects of law in the area of process of State Administration Court, started from introduction process until the implementation of the court verdict. Labour Law (3 Credits) This course gives understanding about the labour, the law perspectives of labour, the scientist perspectives, the terms of work agreement, labour law, the work health, the work security and the work safety, social guarantee of labour and International Labour Organization. Customary Law- Advanced (3 Credits) This course discusses about the applicable customary law in the cultural society. Commercial Law (3 Credits) This course discusses about the basic understanding of commercial law, the history of commercial law and the forms of company and insurance in Indonesia. Civil Law-Advanced (3 Credits) This course discusses about the particular agreement law and inheritance law. Criminal Law- Advanced (3 Credits) This course discusses about the material contained in the book of Criminal Act in Indonesia, such as, trials, participation, concursus, and the voidance of the criminal authority and criminal implementation. Constitutional Law-Advanced (3 Credits) This course discusses about the actual problem in the implementation of constitution and to motivate the student to develop the constitutional system in the context of supporting the development pursuant to Pancasila and Basic Legislation 1945. Public Administration Law-Advanced (3 Credits) This course discusses about the terms of law that gives authority and the authority of the Government to carry out its function in order to embody the purpose of the Country. International Law- Advanced (3 Credits) This course discusses deeper about the basic law and some of basic terms of State interaction between country, especially in the area of public, Human Rights, Diplomatic Law and Refugee Law. Islamic Law-Advanced (3 Credits) As the advanced study of Islamic Law, this course discusses about Islamic Marriage Law, parceling inheritance, wills and the law of endowments. Environmental (2 Credits) This course gives understanding about law perspectives and law aspects that manage the environmental in Indonesia. The materials include the Development of Ecology, The Development of Neighborhood Knowledge, the management of environmental regulation, the mechanism to overcome the environmental issues and the participation of society in the management of environmental and International Environmental Law.

Agrarian Law-Advanced (3 Credits) This course discusses about the importance of understanding the advanced study of the terms in Agrarian Law No. 5/1960 pursuant to Legislation in Indonesia, Government Regulation and other implementation of the regulations. International Private Law (3 Credits) This course discusses about a set of procedural rules that determines which legal system and which jurisdictions applies to a given dispute. Commercial Law-Advanced (3 Credits) This course discusses about the securities, the law of the conveyance of the sea, bankruptcy and the payment delay as well as advanced amount penalty of the responsibility. Inter Group Law-Advanced (2 Credits) This course discusses about inter-group conflict in its local and global manifestations across race, ethnic, religious and class differences as well as the social considerations underlying group conflict or cooperation. Tax Law (2 Credits) This course discusses about the history of tax implementation, tax classification, the difference between retribution and donation, the theories of taxation, basic implementation of tax and the tax system in Indonesia. Intellectual Property Law (2 Credits) This course discusses about many international convention in the area of Intellectual Property and the connection with the regulation of Intellectual Property in Indonesia, the scope of Intellectual Property according to the TRIPS approval and its regulation in Indonesia. This course also examines the all-existing kinds of Intellectual property in Indonesia. Particular Criminal Act (2 Credits) This course examines how the criminal law should address citizens in the society and several candidate principles criminalization, advanced theories of law applied to the particular case of criminal law. Humaniter Law (2 Credits) This course discusses about the war law that is milestone of the beginning of Humaniter Law that details about a belligerent manner. An understanding of Humaniter Law notices the Human Rights of victims of war and prisoners of war that will broad the studentss knowledge on the war cases that ever happen by examining pursuant to the terms of Humaniter Law. Criminology (2 credits) This course discusses about the importance of criminology in order to give a broader knowledge to student in examining crimes and criminal cases that exist in the society. Clinical Legal Education (3 Credits) This course gives the fundamental experience for student to know the mechanism of trial process in the court until the court verdict is decided. This unit asks student to participate in

group to act like people who served in the Court such as, lawyer, defendant, judges, witnesses and others and to compare the practical court process to theories that has been studied in the previous semester. Legislative Drafting (1 Credit) This course discusses about how to draft the legislative in Indonesia until it come into force as well as the process and the mechanism of methodology. Legal Practice (2 Credits) This course discusses about practical mechanism in the court trial of Civil law cases, Criminal Law cases and State Administration Court Law. Banking Law (2 Credits) This course discusses about bank regulations in Indonesia, trust administration, financial, international, corporate law, and the classification of Indonesian banking institutions such as, commercial and rural banks. Commercial Contract Law (2 Credits) This course examines the deeper condition of Commercial Law. This course focuses on the body of the law that governs business and commercial transactions as well as the cases that deal with issues of Criminal and Civil Law. Transpotation Law (2 Credits) This course discusses about the regulation for operators, vehicles and infrastructure as well as the contract of carriage. It also focuses on the transportation law and regulations, carrier tariffs and practices governing transportation and logistics in today's environment, it also focuses on the problem areas that have resulted in disputes and litigation. Insurance Law (1 Credit) This course discusses about the law surrounding insurance, including insurances policies and claims, regulation of the content of insurance policies especially in regard to policies and the regulation of claim handling. It also discusses about the regulation of insurance companies in Indonesia. Capita Selecta of Commercial Law (2 Credits) This course discusses about a wide range of commercial law from the theories to the implementation process on actual cases. Society Representation Institute (2 Credits) This course focuses on the mechanism system of Society Representation Institute in Indonesia, their duties and their rights as the legislator as well as the process of their perspectives to the regulation until it come into force. Land Registration (2 Credits) This unit focuses on how the mechanism of land registration in Indonesia, the conflicts of the land as well as the dispute settlements. Philosophy of Law (3 Credits) This course focuses on the formulation of concepts and theories to aid in understanding the nature of law, the sources of its authority and its role in society.

The Law Ethics Profession (2 Credits) This course focuses on the matters relating to the practice of law. The profession of law is honorable, and its members are expected to act in an honest and upright manner. he fundamental aim of Legal Ethics is to maintain the honor and dignity of the Law Profession, to secure a spirit of friendly co-operation between the Bench and the Bar in the promotion of highest standards of justice. Thesis (4 Credits) The writing of Thesis reflects the capability of student in mastering and formulating a case law, implementing the suitable theories and methods as well as following the mechanism of systematic, logic, integrated and clear.
