Suggested Activities

Suggested Games: 1, 2, 3, POP: Group the kids into four groups with equal number of members. Each group must assign a popper and a finder. A popper should pop the balloon then look for a small piece of paper inside. He has to give it to the finder, then the finder should find in the bible, the verse (with its topic), written on the paper. Examples: (topic + bible verse) Loving God - Mark 12:30 Honor/ respect our parents - Exodus 20:12 I am wonderfully made by God - Genesis 1:27 Always pray to God - 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Loving our neighbor - Mark 12:31 Note: You could look for other/additional bible verses to be included in this game. Who wants to be a Bible Millionaire: Everyone can join the game. There will be questions about the bibles content (e.g. Books of the bible, 12 disciples, etc), and kids can choose the answer from the choices given (A, B, or C) by lining-up. Questions will be given until only one kid is left as a winner. He/She will eceive a bible as a prize. Pep Talk Who among you have a cell phone or a telephone in our house? We are excited to answer the phone especially if it is our parents or friends calling us. Telephone is one of our main communications with our loved ones, so we must use it properly. When we communicate with them, we become closer with them because we get to know them more. And we can do that by using the telephone/cell phone. Bible is like a telephone given to us by God. Why? It is thru the bible that God talks to us. That is why, we need to give respect and importance to it, because it is Gods words and stories written there. When we read the bible, we will see how God worked in different people and different situations; and it will help us know more about God! It will also help us to be better kids kind, happy and more trusting to the Lord! As a Catholic, we should have a Bible. It is for us to read and use it, not only stack it up in our cabinets at home. Ask your parents and siblings to read a story for you, from the bible, so you will know more about God and will be closer to Him! What an exciting and holy task!

Suggested Activities for JK

Bible Word Hunt: Kids should hunt words from the bible. See the attached sample. Bible Puzzle: Print a picture of a bible then make it a puzzle. This may be an individual or group activity. See the attached sample. Suggested Activities for SK Make your own Biblemark (bookmark): Instruct the kids to make their own bible bookmark. They may use different materials to make it more personalized. Biblemark is essential for our bible reading during our prayer time. Bible Makeover: Ask the kids to bring their family bible or own bible during the assembly. The facilitator will teach them of the dos and donts of taking care of their bible. They will also be asked to cover it to protect it from dust or water. Sample Materials: (you may provide or ask them to bring this) Plastic cover Bible cover Scotch tape Colored paper Scripture Reading: Teach the kids on how to start reading the bible during their prayer time. Then they will have their prayer time as their activity. *See the attached Scripture reading Guide. Mechanics: 1. Pray 2. Scripture Reading a. Understand the word of God b. Meditate 3. Apply it Processing/ Conclusion The Bible is the most important gift that God gave to us. We must always give importance to it by reading and studying it. When we always do that, we can make God happy as well. We must also share what weve learn in the Bible to our friends and classmates. In that way, we are able to live out what God tells us thru the Bible. For us to share what weve learn today we will have our mission to accomplish. For Junior Kids: Ask your parents to have a Bible session with you by reading a story from the bible and explaining to you the lessons that can be learned from it. For Senior Kids: Always read the Bible during your prayer time and share to your friends or classmates the lesson that youve learn.
