ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
This paper will not be accomplished without the help of some friends, professors and foes who give time, effort and help for the succession of this thesis. This paper also gives honor to them for their contribution on our paper. First of all, we would like to thank Prof. Eunice Biteng for allowing us to use this topic for our thesis. Also for her warm and generous help in discussion of this paper and sharing of ideas, a massive thank you madam. Second, we like to give a huge thank you to Mr. Jeffrey Maylas who give us the opportunity to use their Rotavap equipment to obtained extracts and share his knowledge towards experimentation. Another we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. Welvin for giving us the opportunity to use their laboratory and assisting us in our bioassay using mice And Ms. Faye for letting us occupy the storage area and store some of our things. We as well want to give a big thank you for Mr. Irving Chiong and the one and only Instructor Aldrin Trance for the interpretation and discussion of our spectral data. Instructor Aldrin was an angel given by the heaven in our study because he also taught us techniques to use in our experimentation. A big round of a plause for you sir from all of us! Also, thank you for the support and part of our dearest classmates, Gladys, DTE especially Sherwin and Jose Mari Felicita for their help, and most important of all to our beloved family and our Lord God for the good vibes and positive outlook towards the heavy pressure of this thesis because without them this thesis will not succeed.

ABSTRACT

Lanzones (lansium Domesticum corr.) Seed exhibits hypoglycemic activity. The obtained extract undergo different chemical at physical analysis. The bioactive components were isolated using Thin Layer Chromatography and column chromatography and characterized using Solvent-solvent extraction. To further characterized the bioactive active components the sample were subjected to instrumental analysis using Gas chromatography Mass Spectroscopy and Infrared Spectroscopy. The concentrated extract was paired with different the solvent and nbutanol extract emerge having the highest hypoglycemic activity towards them. The presence of compound such as Methanoazulene, Germacrene, Naphthalene, Preg4-en-3-one and Hexadecanoic acid contribute on the activity of the Lanzones extract because of their high concentration and activity in the sample based on the Gas chromatography Mass spectroscopy data. The determination of active biocomponents in Lansium domesticum seed extract can help contribute to the growing study of hyperglycemia in the Philippines.
