DESCRIPTION Entrepreneurship is an important area of management study and practice. It is not only important in the context of creating a new venture or managing a small business. Today many organizations in all sectors and of all sizes are seeking individuals that can respond in ways best described as entrepreneurial. The Bachelor of Business (Management and Entrepreneurship) provides students with an opportunity to develop valuable analytical and practical skills. The course offer studies of management theory and practice combined with entrepreneurial themes and trends in emerging countries, behaviours, processes and skills and how these relate t new venture creation, corporate enterprise, social entrepreneurship and the management of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Our Bachelor of Business (Management and Entrepreneurship) offers choice and flexibility, with the option to combine Management and Entrepreneurship with a second majo from International Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, and Tourism Management. You have an option to combine any two fields of interest from a diverse range study areas, and you can change your choices at any time in your first year.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Entrance requirements are different from country to country but in general applicants must have satisfactorily completed 12 years of schooling or equivalent. Successful completion of the James Cook University Foundation Program will also satisfy the entrance requirement. English Language requirements for ALL students IELTS 6.0 (no component lower than 5.5)/ TOFEL 550 (with a minimum written English text score of 4.0) and above; or Satisfactory completion of the James Cook University English Language Preparatory Program (ELPP) l Students who have successfully completed 2 years of full-time study in English medium may satisfy the English language requirement.

Advanced Standing Credit exemption may be granted for students with tertiary qualifications from recognized institutions on a case-by-case basis.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

International students holding a valid students passes are required to attend at least 90% of scheduled classes per month. Failure to attend classes is a breach of the stude visa conditions. Being absent from classes for a continuous period of seven days or more, or attendance falling below 90% without valid reasons will result in the stude needing to surrender their Student pass for cancellation. The EduTrust certification scheme is administered by the Council for Private Education (CPE a statutory board that was formed in 2009. EduTrust requires all students to be covered under a Fee Protection Scheme and in JCU Singapore, it is provided through an insuranc protection scheme. Further, EduTrust also requires that the students must be covered under a medical insurance coverage for the students hospitalisation, surgery and treatment costs througho their course duration.
