God is my All. Nothing without Him Foundation Experiment made me realise something.

God is seeking relationship with Man and that is all what the bible is about. What God requires from us is to worship and depend on him alone? Emphasis is on the word alone because God doesnt want us to find our identity and security in anything other than Himself. In Eden, Adam and Eve lived with God and relied entirely on him. Adam and Eve chose to gain the knowledge of good and evil so that they could rely on themselves and become like the One that they admired the most. God created another convenant with the nation of Israel where they were to worship depend only only on Him. Again, Israel failed and put their hope in false gods, its strength and the strength of the pagan nations around them. God then made another covenant with all the nations of the earth by coming to die on the cross so that He could come and dwell in the heart of anyone willing to accept his Lordship and Salvation. Again we Christians fail constantly because we worship and depend on money, power, relationships, material things, false gods, self, intellect, etc.. iin wor Tim Keller once said that the definition of sin is putting your hope and security in anything other than God. Whoa, that means adultery, greed , slander, homosexuality, murder , lust all come from the fact that we don't put our hope in God. This realization combined with the history of mans failure from Adam to Pastor Paul shows me that there is no way i can ever become sinless without God. Because sin as a way of corrupting everything, all my good intentions is just as likely to cause harm as it is to cause good. This leaves me in a serious bind if I lose sight of the concept of Grace. Realising that I am nothing in myself leaves me free to go ahead and lead my imperfect life; trying to love others while realising that I might hurt others or even worse i might not have an impact on anything. What a sad predicament. All I have been raised to believe flies in the face of this fact - I am nothing without Christ. Gods love and grace changes everything. A pastor once said that we are like cars and God is our fuel. If an alien came to earth and saw a car, he might think it was self propelled. He wouldnt know that fuel is the critical component. As humans, God propels us. We were never designed to operate independently without him. Without him, our impact is often insignificant or negative. We might reduce our standards so we dont seem like the utter failure that we sometimes feel we are but it that will never bring us peace or make us feel secure enough. When we realise Gods grace and love, we all of a sudden see that in Him we are more than conquerors. We can move mountains, we can raise the dead, we can walk on water and most importantly we can live a life without sin. In God, we become impactful and significant. An analogy for marriage :- Bringing someone into the relationship we have with God. Marriage is best seen as a triangular relationship between God, you and yourself. As a single, you are married to God. When you enter an earthly marriage, you are adding another person into the marriage. Once God as healed you, taught you, showed His Love and grace to you, provided for you, cheered and praised you, played with you, revealed himself to you. Basically, shown you how to love, you can go ahead and redo all that to your spouse. When both spouses goal is to make their marriage a reflection of their relationship with God (assuming that their relationship with Him is on the right track) then your marriage has serious potential.
