Dhoke ka grah how to decide There are two tables on page 72 of 1942 ed.

. The first table gives the sequence of the planets to be followed to find out the dhoke ka grah. The 1952 ed also follows this sequence. The second table is an example table drawn for 120 years, assuming sun in the 1st house of the janma kundali. There is yet another table on page 73 of the 1942 ed. This table again is an example table assuming Sun in the 10th house of the janma kundali, and also assuming the 8th,9th and the 12th houses unoccupied. In this page 73 table you will notice the 5th column has Mars and Saturn written on top of it. That means the 8th house of the janma kundali is vacant. You will also notice Jupiter appearing three times. The first Jupiter on top of the 6th column indicates that the 9th house of the janma kundali too is vacant. The next Jupiter on column 7th is the Jupiter according to the sequence. The last Jupiter on column 9th once again indicates that the 12th house of the janma kundali is vacant. [ 1952 Urdu ed page 149 says : if the 8th house is unoccupied then write mars & Saturn , if the 9th ,12th are unoccupied then write Jupiter ] The formula to work out the dhoke ka grah is not different either. It is the same both in the 1942 ed and the 1952 ed except for two things added: [ 1 ] Condition about the sun: [a] the sun if placed in the 6th house will be written on top of the column 9 ; [b] If the first house of the janma kundali is vacant then the sun in the 7th house will be written on top of the 5th column, otherwise the sun of the 7th will be written atop the 7th itself. [c] the sun in the 9th house will be written on top of the 6th column. [ 1952 urdu ed ; page 148 ] [ 2 ] Condition about vacant houses: [a] If the 8th house is unoccupied then write mars and Saturn in the column [b] if the 9th, 12th are unoccupied then write Jupiter on top of the column [ 1952 urdu ed; page 149, last lines]

Since the 1952 edition is the final edition, we should follow the instructions laid down in that book. In matters of ambiguity the 1952 edition should be followed because being the latest it supersedes the earlier editions. Example Kundali: Born : February 15, 1971 Time : 8:50 am Place : Chandigarh [ 76e53; 30n44 ] The janma kundali is : Lagna : Meen 1st house : not occupied 2nd house : Saturn 3rd house : not occupied 4th house : not occupied 5th house : not occupied 6th house : ketu 7th house : moon 8th house : not occupied 9th house : mars & Jupiter 10th house : venus 11th house : mercury 12th house : sun & rahu Since the sun is in the 12th house therefore sun will be written in the last column above the 12th year when it will reach the 1st house.. Therefore the sequence of planets to be written on the top will be : Moon : Ketu : Mars : Mercury : Saturn : Rahu : above 1st year above 2nd year above 3rd year above 4th year above 5th year above 6th year

Mars & Saturn : above 7th year [ 8th house empty therefore mars+sat ]

Mars & Jupiter : above 8th year [ planets placed in the 9th house] Jupiter : Venus : Sun & rahu : Sun: above 9th year above 10th year above 11th year [ planets placed in the 12th house] above 12th year

Complete the years below in all the columns.
