8.Students which havent brought their formula appendix to tutorial class are not allowed to stay!
V. Assignment
1. The students will be divided into groups. Each Group consists of a maximum of 6 students. 2. Assignment will be uploaded to MMLS during the 3rd week. 3. Brieng on the assignment will be during the lecture of Fri. 14 March 2008 4. Students are supposed to make a group of their own choice and choose ONE assignment from the list of 7 assignments. Each group should have a group leader. The group leaders are supposed to meet Dr. Dirk in person for registration. The distribution of assignments to the students will be distributed according to rst come rst served. The registration time will be announced later. 5. The assignments report should be submitted not later than April 21st, 2010 at 12:00 in Dr. Dirks ofce. 6. The report shall contain detailed drawing of the design of the whole system and sectional views and separated components where necessary. The drawing shall be submitted on A2 paper 7. The report shall contain calculation of each component and shall be typed on A4 size paper; the calculations shall be done under headings and subheadings of components. 8. The report shall have the cover page, stating the topic and the respective group members (ID and names). 9. For an outstanding design, you are very much advised to search of external sources to help you in design.
Come to class and tutorials, pay attention, and participate. Take notes during class and ask! Read the relevant textbooks. It is a good idea to intelligently highlight and take notes while reading. Get yourself familiar with the appendix. You might use it heavily and it is used during nal exam as well since EME2026 is an open book test. Work together with your group members for tutorial, assignments, etc. Also, make sure that you are, as an individual, understand and know how to approach and complete every problem on every topic. Before turning any work, make sure you read the earlier task/ problems carefully to make sure that you have done everything that was required. Prepare and study for exams by reviewing and studying the readings, your lecture notes, and your homework assignments. You are expected to be able to answer general questions dealing with an understanding and basic application of the course material. You are also expected to have a rm grasp of the terminology used and how it is applied. Don't procrastinate and don't put things off till the last minute. Schedule weekly working times with your group and schedule times for individual reading, studying, and practicing. Visit/call/email your lecturers when ever you have questions or problems. Keep a positive attitude; after all, EME2026 is an interesting subject and core fundamental for you as a becoming mechanical engineer!
NOTE: Please follow the instructions VERY carefully and please dont fantasize your work unnecessarily!
