Could Perpetrators be Charged with Manslaughter?
Suppose your know your cars brakes are faulty. You ask Max your mechanic to check them. Sure, go around the back. Max hops in, turns on the ignition and puts his foot on the brake. He yells, Are the brake lights working? You reply, Yes. Max says, Great, your brakes are ne. On the drive home your brakes fail causing a fatal, head-on accident. Given you relied on Maxs representations, would you consider suing him? Could Max be charged with manslaughter? If you are advised the ionization smoke alarms in your rented property are safe, and you rely on this (false) representation, what happens in the event of your alarms failing to respond reliably to the presence of smoke which leads to death, injury or loss of property? Could your landlord, real estate company or smoke alarm inspection company be charged with manslaughter (in the event of a death) if they were advised/had Prior Knowledge proving your ionization alarms were faulty and failed to act on that Prior Knowledge? It is not a valid defence to state ionization alarms are covered by Australian Standard 3786 when empirical, Australian Government scientic test data reveals they have been unable to pass the test for visible smoke since 1993, AND when this information has been in the Public Domain for over Five Years (see pages 6~10). The proof showed that sometimes the ionization detectors wouldnt even go off at all, and yet they continue to manufacture them, continue to sell them, continue to stand by them.

Box 170, Wondai, QLD 4606 Re: Ionization Smoke Alarm Disclosure Request: Wormald, Model WRS109MK2 Dear Sir/Madam I am writing regarding concerns with the Wormald model ionization smoke alarms detailed above that are currently installed in the apartments on all 16 oors of the Burleigh Beach Towers, 52 Goodwin Terrace, Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, Queensland. I have just returned from a holiday at Burleigh Beach Towers (BBT) where I read a Press Release from Wormald (page 5) about smoke alarms. Upon checking I discovered the only smoke alarm in my 9th oor apartment was the ionization alarm listed above which is located in the lounge/kitchen area. BBT management informed me all apartments in the building were tted with the same brand and model ionization alarm. BBT apartments are tted with heat alarms. There is no sprinkler system. There was ONLY ONE exit from my apartment - through the lounge/kitchen area. Please advise at your earliest possible convenience, the smoke density reported by the testing authority under clauses 7 (e) and (f) of Australian Standard 2362.17 as detailed in the extract below: -------------------------------------------------------7 REPORTING OF RESULTS. The following shall be reported: (e) . . . smoke density at which actuating device entered the alarm state when mounted on the horizontal surface. (f) . . . smoke density at which actuating device entered the alarm state when mounted on the vertical surface (where required). --------------------------------------------------------

IAFCs 1980 Warning In 1980, the USA based, International Association of Fire Chiefs warned ionization alarms were not safe and lives were at risk. They urged Fire Chiefs to only recommend photoelectric smoke alarms. However, the truth was buried and tens of thousands may have been killed or injured when their ionization alarms failed to operate in time. Photoelectric Legislation Thanks to a handful of dedicated US campaigners the truth is nally starting to be exposed. New laws in some States are beginning to make people safer by mandating photoelectric alarms which helps eliminate ionization alarms. But with so many deaths, those who have worked so hard for so long to keep the truth from the public, and our re ghters, are continuing to try and stop the truth from being revealed. Ban & Recall Should ionization smoke alarms be banned and recalled? Test data (with)held by the CSIRO answers this critical question, Yes. Help Save U.S. Lives Many smoke alarms tested in Australia are the same or similar to those sold in the USA. Whilst America has failed to admit their smoke alarm standard (UL217) is awed, Australia already has. Requesting the level of smoke your ionization alarms activated under CSIRO testing will help save lives in Australia, and provide the evidence to expose these defective devices throughout the USA.

What Level of Smoke do the Ionization Smoke Alarms, Supposedly Protecting YOUR Family, Activate in the Australian Governments Scientific Testing?
The Australian Government issues Certicates of Conformity after testing smoke alarms in accordance with Australias Smoke Alarm Standard, AS3786. Deadly Loophole In August, 2008 Standards Australia formally acknowledged AS3786 is awed. AS3786 requires ionization smoke alarms be subjected to a valid test for visible smoke. Due to a deadly loophole they are not required to pass this valid test for visible smoke. However, the level of smoke at which they activate must be recorded and reported to the manufacturer. Smoke Alarm Disclosure The public have a right to know the level of smoke their ionization alarms activated under the CSIROs testing. Photoelectric alarms must go off before 20% smoke. Did your ionization alarms activate before 20%? (see quote from Mr David Isaac on page 10). Global Ban & Recall CSIRO test data is the key to banning and recalling ionization smoke alarms from all homes globally.
