Database Administrator The Endocrine Society, a professional membership association with 15,000+ members, seeks an experienced database administrator.

This individual has responsibility for the Societys association management system (AMS), including installation, maintenance, upgrades, report processing, and consulting on best practices for data and system use. The database administrator reports to the Director of IT. Responsibilities: Consults with Society personnel to determine appropriate solutions to business challenges using the Societys AMS, eCommerce, or other applications. Develops or assists Society staff in the creation and regular execution of reports, mail lists, and other extracts from the various Society databases. Works with Director of IT to determine frequency and timing of database upgrades. Conducts installation of upgrades and testing of new releases. Keeps Director of IT apprised of status of projects. Manages database development and upgrade projects and project teams, determining project scope, timelines, and risks. Arranges for or conducts personnel training on AMS, eCommerce, and other database applications. Coordinates with Director of IT and vendors on pricing and implementation of modifications to applications. Coordinates application support contractors and provides follow-up to ensure all requests for assistance are consistently addressed in a timely manner. Acts as primary point-of-contact for maintaining the security and integrity of all database systems. Ensures data is backed up regularly, stored effectively, and secured from unauthorized access. Performs database tuning as needed. Evaluates and recommends new products in support of Society requirements and initiatives. Requirements: In-depth knowledge of SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Microsoft Access. Highly adept in working with databases including setting up relational tables, creating and maintaining SSIS packages, and generating complex reports (SSRS), mail labels, word processing merge files, and delimited extract files.

Substantial background installing, testing, tuning, and maintaining AMS software. Working knowledge of .Net SharePoint, and Content Management Systems is desired. Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills. Robust vendor and project management skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Strong attention to detail and data quality. College degree from an accredited university is highly desired. A minimum 3-5 years database management experience in an association environment required. 3-5 years experience with end-user support and training in an office environment.
