INSTITUTE OF PARAMEDICAL SCIENCE 2 TECHNICAL TRAINING WING AMC CENTRE AND COLLEGE

History: 1. No 2 Tech Trg Bn was raised on 01 Aug 1969 on split of the only Tech Trg Bn of the AMC Centre into two separate Technical Training Bns. This Bn is responsible to impart training to Nur Asst and Religious. It has been reorg as a Wing and comd upgde to Brig in 2009. Est of Institute of Paramedical Science: 2. Inst of paramedical sciences (IPMS) was est at 2 Tech Trg Wg and first Dip course under aegis of uttar Pradesh State Medical Faculty(UPSMF) wef 01 Aug 2008. Subsequently 08 other Diploma course ( 04 each under UPSMF and Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences) were introduced wef 01 Jul 2009. Institute of Para medical Science was subsequently recognized by Govt of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare vide GOI letter No Z 20011/1/2008-ME dt 06 Sep 2010 for award of Degree/Diploma/Certificate to various Paramedical course run by IPMS. Following this 68 discipline of STNA and STNT was introduced for award of certificate wef Jan 2011.

Capability and Role 3. As per revised PE VI/308/1946/7 the capacity of the Bn is to train 590 recruits at one time, however since last 02 yrs IPMS has been imparting trg to Cl-IV Rects far more than its auth trg capacity. 4. The role of No 2 Tech Trg Wg is to train recruits of the following cat:(a) (b) (c) (d) . Nur Asst Class-IV Religious Teachers Candidates registered for Diploma course under aegis of UPSMF and SIHS. Co-ord Cl-III trg at designated trg hosps.

Courses conducted by IPMS: 5. Apart for Cl-IV Trg for all Nursing assts the following courses are conducted by IPMS for Diploma and certificates: (a) Diploma Courses (i) Diploma in Emergency and Trauma Care Technician under the aegis of UPSMF. (ii) Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician under the aegis of UPSMF. (iii) Diploma in Blood Transfusion Technician under the aegis of UPSMF. (iv) Diploma in Physiotherapy under the aegis of UPSMF. (v) Diploma in Sanitation under the aegis of UPSMF. (vi) Diploma in Laboratory Technician under the aegis of SIHS. (vii) Diploma in X-Ray Technician under the aegis of SIHS, (viii)Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing under the aegis of SIHS (ix) Diploma for Special Treatment Assistant under the aegis of SIHS. (x) Diploma In Emergency and Trauma Care Technician under the aegis of IPMS. (b) Certificate Course: Certificate courses of 06 months duration in 68 different discipline of STNA/STNT are also being conducted by IPMS. Manpower trained Till date by IPMS 6.
