They Worship a tree. Why? Deep lessons for a learning on emotional intelligence. Part-1.

The veracity of the fact has been traced during excavation of an ancient civilization by the name Mohanjodaro and Harappa. It has been ascertained that the civilization existed around 1300- 1700 B.C. The findings establish that the inhabitants of that civilization worshiped the tree known as Ashwathga in Sanskrit, Peepal in English and Ficus religiosa. Several scriptures and epics under the ancient Indian belief system, clearly establish the practice of its worship dating back to times almost unknown. And the same observation still goes on with the same intensity and at shallow ends of Hindus beliefs and its practices. This tree constitutes as a living deity under the religious and spiritual beliefs of Indian ethos and Hindu mythology. It is eminent to any reader in this world that when any community deeply accepts any form of worship as its deity then the scale of reverence attributed towards it stands unparalleled. A great seers of ancient wisdom Adi Guru Shankaracharya who lived on this planet several centuries ago assigned this tree with its true meaning drawn from its sanskrit name Ashwatha. He explained that this name constitutes of three components, namely; a that means to negate or in negation, shwa that means the other day (tomorrow) and the word tha means the one that shall stay or remain in simple words the exact meaning drawn of this word

Ashwatha is the one that never remains the same on the following day. In other words it also means the one that changes each day. It was therefore that this great seer observed the significance of this tree as equivalent to the cosmos because in cosmos too each passing moment is absolutely anew; for a reason that every bit of this creation is sailing in and through infinity therefore the endless journey for all shall witness infinity and eternity. Please do not get confused by few above mentioned lines; in ordinary words these lines encourage us to mammoth dimension where it informs us about endless reserve of creativity and resource available for all in this cosmos. It indicates about plentiful reservoir of knowledge and resource for all those who bear and exercise the wisdom of righteous approach towards utilization and not resource drawn as plunder. The beliefs whether religious or spiritual; religious since the tree is held as a deity and spiritual for the tree is strongly believed as the abode of spirits are far exceeded by its botanical values established earlier and even as lately the tree grows equitably towards its top and bottom its branches grow and fall on the ground to merge into its roots even if the tree atop the surface of the earth is felled its branches engulfing its roots undertake the responsibility to live The most remarkable contribution of this tree is now known to all that it one amongst the rarest variety that contributes the life line i.e. Oxygen round the clockon contrary to most vegetation that is known to produce oxygen during day and carbon dioxide during the night. Indian witnessed one greatest seers of all times who carried out his entire pursuit of austerity upon this tree and sustained throughout by merely eating its fruits and thereby he became known as Piplad Rishi (seer).

(I do not stand for the endorsement to the mention to come ahead in regard to its plantation) As I am informed that its seed has a very hard shell and it does not easily germinate in the soil; when birds hit their sharp beak upon its seed to eat it as a fruit it is then that the seed cracks to render itself for germination. In India we often observe small abruption of Peepal tree on terraces, small pockets on the vertical walls almost at places where it is merely for the birds to come and rest Few lessons that emerge out of the observation upon the Peepal tree. 1. Although it is revered but very few people initiate to plant this tree. 2. According to Hindu beliefs felling this tree shall accrue as a great sin. 3. It contributes Oxygen; round the clock to maintain the ecological balance on this planet. 4. It lives to fight any adversity at all ends atop surface of earth and beneath the earth surface. 5. Birds that defy gravity initiate for its plantation wherever possible within their limited scope and wisdom. 6. As vegetation it cannot discriminate amongst its beneficiaries. 7. It is revered. 8. Considered as a symbol of change and prosperity. 9. Believed as an abode to subtler forces. 10. For the services it renders to the community; it seeks nothing.
