The Asharis and the Maturidis deviance has often been hidden from a large majority of the Muslim ummah of the past and present due to the fact both groups often assert they are the two groups that make up Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jammah (Ahlus Sunnah). However both groups are in reality from Ahlu Bidah and they both belong to the Mutakallimun (the Speculative Theologians) and Ahl al Kalam (the people of theological rhetoric), the deviant sects such as the Jahmiyyah, Mutazilah, Kullaabiyyah, Ashariyyah, Maturidiyyah and the Karraamiyyah are also included in the Mutakallimun and Ahl al Kalam. One of the greatest reasons for both groups being from Ahlu Bidah is that both groups have disgusting innovated beliefs concerning the Quran. Ahlus sunnah hold the quran we have today is the direct speech of Allah which Allah spoke to the angle Jibreel in clear Arabic words with letters and sounds and it is incorrect to hold a view that the Quran is created. As for the Asharis they claim that the Quran which is contained in the Mushafs is in fact created. This concept alone is incorrect however the idea behind this concept is the Asharis horrifying beliefs about Allah himself.

The reason the Asharis hold that the Quran which is contained in the Mushafs is in fact created is because, Allah in their misguided opinions speaks without sound or letters and his speech resides in his essence (self), this concept is know as al-Kalaam an-Nafsi [the meaning that resides eternally with the Self of Allaah]. However they do correctly hold that Allahs speech is uncreated. This disgusting believe clearly shows that the Asharis are form Ahlu bidah and not Ahlus Sunnah. The well known 13th century Ashari scholar Al-Bayjoori (d.1276H) said in Haashiyah (Marginal Commentary) upon Jawharat ut-Tawheed,And the madhhab of Ahl us-Sunnah is that the Quran, with the meaning of alKalaam an-Nafsi [the meaning that resides eternally with the Self of Allaah] is not created. And as for the Quraan with the meaning of the lafdh (the wording) that we recite, then it is created. However, it is prohibited that it be said, The Quraan is created intending by that the wording which we recite except in the context of teaching. Because it may give the presumption that the Quraan, with the meaning of His The Most Highs Kalaam (i.e. that which resides in the Self) is created. And for this reason, the scholars withheld from speaking with the Quraan [being] created.

The Maturidis like there Ahlu Bidah counterparts the Asharis also claim that they are from the ranks Ahlus Sunnah. But this is just a lie as they hold the filthy believe that the Quran that we have (which is contained in the Mushafs) is not the speech of Allah. In their view it is just an Arabic expression which signifies Allahs speech that exists in his essence (self) which is eternal. So they hold that the Quran we have in the Mushafs is only an Arabic expression which can never be Allahs speech as it can only signify Allahs speech (i.e. it signifies that Allah can speak). Thus although the Maturidis correctly hold that Allah speaks, it is totally incorrect of them to hold that the Quran is not Allahs true and real speech which is made of sounds letters and word, and that the Quran is just an Arabic expression signifying that Allah speaks. This belief of the Maturidis clearly shows that the Maturidis are from Ahlu bidah and not from Ahlus Sunnah. In conclusion both the Asharis and the Matruidis incorrectly believe that the Quran in our possession today, that is read, recited and memorized is created and this view opposes that of Ahlus Sunnah who hold that the Quran in our possession today is the speech of Allah. Furthermore Ahlus Sunnah assert that to believe, that the Quran is created is a bidah (innovation) in the religion.

In fact some of the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah have stated that the one who says the Quran is created has committed kufr of action (i.e. speech), wether this makes the doer a kaafir or not Allah knows best. Imam Bukhari in his book Khalq afal-Ibaad bring many narrations of the salaf who said that those who say that the Quran is created are Kafir. Side Points Below are the incorrect innovated beliefs on the Quran by two other misguided sects not mentioned in the article above. The Mutazilah say that the words of the Quran that are recited and memorized are created, Allaah created them in the angle Jibreel. The Kullabis believe in the innovated belief Kalaam Nafsee (that Allah speaks without sound or letters and his speech resides in his essence (self)) however they correctly stated that Allahs speech is not created.
