India Define the word sect A sect is a relatively small group that has broken away from an established denomination. Define Christianity Christianity was founded upon by the teachings of Jesus Christ, a man who died on a cross in Jerusalem about A.D. 30. Define Buddha A Buddha is an enlightened or awakened one. Define Confucianism Confucianism is prescribed a series of ethical principles for the orderly conduct of daily life in China. It is based on the teachings of Confucius, a philosopher and teacher. What did it mean when it said that most ethnic religions have little diffusion? It meant that most ethnic religions lack missionaries, or people to spread their religion. What did it mean when it said that Christianitys diffusion has been rather clearly recorded? It meant that geographers examine its diffusion by reconstructing patterns of communications, interactions,

migrations. Why did Islam diffuse well beyond its hearth? It did this to spread its religion all over the world through relocation diffusion. Also they used missionaries. Why do Muslims make a pilgrimage to Mecca? The Muslims make a pilgrimage to Mecca to see the birthplace of Muhammad. What are the effects of ethnic religions being tied to physical features? It causes people to make a pilgrimage to the holy sites to see the certain physical features. What would you do if you had to cremate a body because you were a Hindu? Well if it was part of my religion I guess it would be okay but I dont think I would like to cremate a dead person. How did early Americans handle a similar problem like the one Religion vs. Government Policies? They divided religion and state. Jefferson made sure that freedom of religion was secure and that the government did not enforce a certain religion on the people. How do most people handle religion vs. religion conflicts? A lot of countries battle each other over these certain conflicts because they think that there religion dominants all. Although some people talk it out and stay out of each others way. What could have been done to stop the fighting between the Palestinians and the Jews? The UN could have recognized that the Palestinians and the Muslims lived in Israel so that they wouldnt have given the land to the Jewish people. What can we learn from the religious wars in Ireland? We can learn that it is not good for a country to be divided for religious or any other reasons. A country should stay together and not fight each other because it makes them weak.
