What is Windows Live Movie Maker? You can use Windows Live Movie Maker to turn your videos and photos into great-looking movies so you can share your favorite digital memories with your family, friends, or even the whole world. Here are some of the things you can do in Movie Maker:

Add videos and photos. Start your project by adding photos and videos to Movie Maker. Add videos and photos right in Movie Maker or through Windows Live Photo Gallery. Personalize your movie. Add transitions, pan and zoom effects, visual effects, titles, credits, captions, and other special touches to make your movie your own. Add music. Add music to your movies to use as a soundtrack. Make a movie quickly using Auto Movie themes. After you add videos and photos, pick an Auto Movie theme to make a movie in just a few clicks. Auto Movie themes automatically add a title, credits, transitions and effects for you. Preview at any time. How do we add videos and photos in Movie Maker? The first step to making a movie in Windows Live Movie Maker is to add videos and photos. After that, you're ready to start editing your project. When you make changes in Movie Maker, the original video files and photos aren't changed. Go ahead and try different things when you're making your movieyour source videos and photos are won't be affected. Here are a few different ways to add videos and photos to Movie Maker.

To add videos and photos into Movie Maker 1. Open Windows Live Movie Maker by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Movie Maker, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Live Movie Maker. 2. On the Home tab, in the Add group, click Add videos and photos. 3. In the Add Videos and Photos dialog box, open the folder that contains the photos or videos that you want to add, select the video files and photos, and then click Open. To select multiple photos and videos, press and hold the Ctrl key, and then click each photo and video you want. To add photos and videos to Movie Maker through Photo Gallery 1. Open Windows Live Photo Gallery by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Photo Gallery, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Live Photo Gallery. 2. In Photo Gallery, select the videos and photos that you want to use in your movie. To select multiple photos and videos, select the check box in the upperleft corner for each photo and video you want. 3. On the Create tab, in the Share group, click Movie. Movie Maker opens automatically and the selected photos and videos are added to the storyboard. How do we trim a video in Movie Maker? You can trim the beginning and end of a video so your movie shows only the part of the video you want. For example, if you have a video with a few black frames at the beginning, you could trim the beginning of the video so the black frames don't appear in your final saved movie. When you trim a video file in Windows Live Movie Maker, the original video file isn't affected. All the video footage remains in the original video file. To trim a video in Movie Maker 1. Open Windows Live Movie Maker by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Movie Maker, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Live Movie Maker. 2. On the Home tab, in the Add group, click Add videos and photos.

3. In the Add Videos and Photos dialog box, open the folder that contains the photos or videos that you want to add, select the video files and photos, and then click Open. 4. Click the video that you want to trim. To select multiple photos and videos, press and hold the Ctrl key, and then click each photo and video you want. 5. Under Video Tools, on the Edit tab, in the Editing group, do one or more of the following: o To set a new start point for the video, drag the slider underneath the preview monitor to the point that you want the video to start, and then click Set start point. o To set a new end point for the video, drag the slider underneath the preview monitor to the point that you want the video to stop playing, and then click Set end point. To clear any new start and end points in Movie Maker so the whole video plays 1. Click a trimmed video in your project. 2. Under Video Tools, on the Edit tab, in the Editing group, click Trim tool. 3. Do one or more of the following: o To make the trimmed video play from the beginning again, click the start trim handle underneath the preview monitor, and drag it to the beginning of the video. o To make the trimmed video play to the end again, click the end trim handle underneath the preview monitor, and drag it to the end of the video. 4. On the Trim tab, in the Trim group, click Save trim to save the changes you made and to close the trim tool. How do I publish my movie on the web? After you're done editing your project in Windows Live Movie Maker, you can share your movie with family, friends, and others by publishing it on the web. You can do this by using choosing one of the websites in the Sharing group. You can also install additional publishing plug-ins that let you publish your movie on many other popular websites today right in Movie Maker.
