About the California Charter Schools Association The California Charter Schools Association (CCSA) is the membership and professional organization serving charter public schools in the state of California. The vision of CCSA is to usher in a new era in public education so all students attend independent, innovative, accountable schools of choice. For more information, please visit www.calcharters.org. Overview of Responsibilities The Manager of Development will report to the Vice President of Development. He/She will be responsible for the management and organization of CCSAs development and fundraising activities. The major responsibilities include writing grant proposals and reports, conducting research on funding prospects, tracking progress of measurable outcomes and working collaboratively with CCSA staff across the state. The ideal candidate must be exceedingly well organized, comprise strong writing skills, have the ability to manage multiple projects in a fastpaced environment and have the desire to work professionally within an organization of diverse people and projects. Essential Duties Collaborate with CCSA staff to develop private foundation and government grant proposals Collect programmatic outcomes from staff in order to prepare interim and final grant reports Build and demonstrate knowledge of charter schools and CCSAs strategic priorities in order to seek out appropriate funding opportunities Research, identify and cultivate new donors and potential funding sources Track progress of existing grants by collecting, organizing and reporting CCSA performance data Assist in the development of fundraising collateral and materials Maintain a database of existing funders and funding prospects that are in alignment with CCSAs priorities Participate with CCSA staff in the coordination of events such as the annual statewide conference Preferred Capabilities Strong written and oral communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team and coordinate multiple projects across teams Flexibility and ability to work on tight deadlines A keen understanding and appreciation of CCSAs mission and strategic priorities Minimum of a BA, MA preferred Qualified and Interested Candidates Please send a cover letter and resume (with Manager of Development in the subject line) to: Danny Corwin, Vice President of Development, email address: dcorwin@calcharters.org
