Vikram woollens was setup in the year 1995 at Malanpur, M.P. it was setup especially for fibre like pure wool & blend wool, angora, camel hair, polyester & viscose. The total area of this factory is 82,140 sq. M. Unit has modern spinning & dyeing equipment with an installed capacity of 8832 spindles specifically with latest technology equipped with best machine. He machines are imported from various countries like France, Germany, and Switzerland etc. The unit is manufacturing & marketing around 100.00 tonnes per month. The company was awarded ISO 9002 during the year 1999, and again awarded with ISO 14001 certificates during the year, the three most important blends that are being worked upon currently are: All Wool Polyester Wool Polyester Viscose

Introduction to Woollen Textile industry in India


The woollen textile industry in India is small in size and scattered. 40% of the woollen units are located in Punjab 27% in Haryana, 10% in Rajasthan, the rest of the states amount for 23% of the units. A few larger units re located in Maharashtra, Punjab UP, Gujarat and West Bengal. The production of indigenous wool in the country during 3 years: YEAR 2004-05 2005-06 2006-07 Quantity ( in million kg) 76.21 82.34 86.12

The woollen industry in India broadly falls under 2 sectors: 1) Organized Sector: a. Composite Mills b. Combing Mills c. Worsted & non-worsted spinning units d. Machine made carpet-manufacturing units 2) Decentralized Sector: a. Hosiery & Knitting b. Power loom c. Hand knotted carpets, Druggets and Namdhas. d. Independent dyeing processing houses. Since, indigenous production of fine quality wool required by the organized mill & decentralized hosiery sector is very limited, India depends largely on imports, Australia being the largest supplier. New Zealand wool is rich in lustre is imported mainly for carpet sector for blending it with indigenous wool.

MANUFACTURING PROCESSES:
RAW MATERIALS: VISCOSE: The viscose tops used by Vikram Woollens are manufactured by the Birla viscose from the Aditya Birla group. It makes a comprehensive range of products. WOOL: The woollen fibres are procured by Jayshree textiles for Vikram woollens from the countries like Australia. Mainly woollen fabrics are characterized as being fuzzy, thick, rough and bulky. POLYESTER: The polyester procured is on the basis of lots from Reliance or IOCL.

Vikram Woollens provide a variety of spun yarn to its customers in pure wool & blends of wool, Angora, Camel hair & other fibres. The blend includes: Wool 100% Wool/Polyester Wool/Viscose Wool/Polyester/Viscose Wool/Silk Polyester/Viscose
