This years Christmas infant concert was the story of Jungle Book, chosen to fit in with Year 2s work on saving and protecting the Rainforest. Reception and Year 1 performed the Sleepy Shepherd. This was a new play and the children really enjoyed learning all the new songs. A lot of hard work goes into putting together a concert to include 180 children60 of whom have only been in school a term. They have all showed great confidence and we are very proud of them. Many thanks has to go to all the teachers and teaching assistants who have worked hard to organise rehearsals and costumes for everyone. It has certainly put everyone in the mood for Christmas. We would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and best wishes for a peaceful and successful 2012.

Brampton Primary is a restorative school where the initial response to conflict is to find a solution where things are put right, the victims needs are met whilst also meeting the needs of the wrong doer and meet all the schools responsibilities.

Last week Year Ones Learning Challenge was How do children in Bexleyheath celebrate Christmas? In order to answer this question they went to visit Santa at Bexleyheath Broadway Shopping Centre. The children excitedly waited in line for their turn to meet Santa and looked at all the Christmas decorations in the shop windows. Each child handed Santa their letter and he was very impressed with their writing. He asked the children if they had been good this year and of course they said yes! Each child was given a gift which they were very eager to open. Santas helper phoned the school later in the day to thank Year One for their outstanding behaviour. Well done to them and many thanks to Miss Westbrook and Miss Bartlett for organising the visit.

Playground Pals Children in Year 5 and 6 were invited to apply for a post as a Playground Pal at lunchtime play. After short-listing the applications, Mrs Sword and Miss Lambert, held interviews for the successful applicants. These children were then divide into smaller groups and allocated a period of time to serve. Megan Collins, Holly Eagles, Bethany Collins, Ruby Allen and Gabrielle Foster were our first group of Playground Pals for this term. They have done a great job and were rewarded in assembly with a small token of appreciation for their help in making younger children feel at ease and encouraging them to play together. Mrs Sword is looking forward to working with the next group in January. Miss Fishers Treat A party of twenty four children whose names had been pulled out of the Raffle Ticket draw for showing good behaviour, attitude or work went to Bexleyheath Bowling this week with Miss Fisher. They had a fantastic time and as expected displayed exemplary behaviour there although there were some competitive games taking place. Id also like to apologise for muddling up the Jacks in last weeks newsletter. It was Jack Abbott whose name was pulled out from 2B not Jack Packham in 2PW. So sorry to both Jacks.

They lost 4-2 to Our Lady of the Rosary in their first match but after a stern talking to from their coach, Mr Capelli, they then beat Northumberland Heath 17-0!! An unheard of result. This resulted in another 4 out 6 possible points. Well done to the girls, Mr Capelli and Mrs Ward. FOB News Once again FOB managed to put on another fun-filled event for the children with their Christmas Fayre this year. Down to the huge efforts of the committee and some parent volunteers FOB raised a fantastic 700 for the School. It was great sadness that we heard of the death this week of Mo Holmes. She had been a stalwart supporter of Brampton school and FOB for a number of years. She would regularly help with reading, trips, school topics - in particular the 2nd World War, Year 6 end of year concerts, our list of her help is endless. Then she was a FOB Committee member and helped at numerous FOB events with her famous Mos Christmas Puddings and Pickled Onions as well as more recently her craft stall. We will all miss her greatly and all our thoughts and prayers go to her family and friends at this difficult time.
