local controller

extra safety with lower installation costs

Local Controller monitors the local mains supply, and controls the centrally supplied emergency luminaires. It provides two remarkable advantages: Local voltage breakdown switches on the non-maintained emergency luminaires, even if the supply to the central battery unit remains. Both maintained and non-maintained emergency luminaires can be connected to the same circuit. This eliminates separate cabling for maintained and nonmaintained luminaires. The Local Controller is compatible with all Teknoware central battery units with 230 VAC/DC output. The non-maintained luminaires shall be of Teknoware type which have the type code ending -K or -T, or they shall be fitted with a compatible address module.

The Local Controller is connected to the emergency supply cabling between the central battery unit and luminaires. Its monitoring inputs are connected to the mains supply of the local general lighting, and it can monitor up to 3 phases independently. If any of the monitoring inputs detect supply failure, the Local Controller sends a message via supply cable to the non-maintained luminaires and they switch themselves on. When the supply recovers, the normal operation returns automatically. The Local Controller types TS90695/TS90696 have additionally a switch control input and potential free relay contact output for external control. They include also an adjustable 1-15 min delay for return to mains operation. The non-maintained luminaires detect also the situation where the central battery unit turns to battery mode. In this situation the non-maintained luminaires are switched on regardless of the status of The Local Controller.

switch controller

increases flexibility of emergency lighting control

Switch Controller TST28xx enables a simple arrangement where the centrally supplied emergency luminaires can be used for general lighting in normal mode. An ordinary light switch or timer controls luminaires. TST28xx is compatible with all Teknoware central battery systems with 230V output, and it can be used together with the Local Controller TS906xx as well. In normal mode the luminaires take their supply from the light switch. When the central battery unit turns to emergency mode, the emergency luminaires are automatically switched over to emergency supply, regardless of the position of the light switch. The same applies also when the Local Controller sends and information of a local supply failure. Switch Controller has also a dimming control output, which can be used to dim the light during emergency mode. The control output is compatible with electronic ballasts having a 1-10V dimming control input according to IEC 60929.
