Introduction:
Today we are going to explore an issue that relates to being a good digital citizen which means participating safely with digital technology including things like computers, mobile phones and the internet. Being a good digital citizen is important whether you are at home, work or school. We are focusing on PLAGIARISM Speak slowly and clearly

Explanation:
The internet provides ready access to digital tools that enable people to readily create or synthesise online content including text, music and images. However, often you may not realise how serious it is to copy or to use the creative work of others. -2-
Taking someones work and pretending that it is yours or using their work without acknowledging who created it is like stealing. In some cases, people face fines or are sued for plagiarism. To avoid plagiarism you need to understand how to reference a work correctly.

As a class, brainstorm ways that plagiarism can be avoided. Give class a few minutes think about this and write their ideas on the worksheet

Thank you for your contribution to the group discussions. To finish off today, we will be having a little quiz. Many of us like to use acronyms and abbreviations when we talk, text or email. Sometimes, we dont even realise how much we use them or what some of them actually mean. Lets see what you know and there are prizes for correct answers. Speak slowly and clearly All students to be seated.
Activity 3: Quiz
Ask students what the following acronyms/ abbreviations mean. Hands up to answer. 1. IWB (Interactive White Board like in A13) 2. SMS (Short Messaging Service) 3. ASAP (As Soon As Possible) 4. LOL (Laugh Out Loud) 5. BRB (Be Right Back) Distribute prizes for correct answers to quiz.
