Whats the Harvest? Most Christians believe they know the scriptures.

Im not talking about trivial knowledge, like Who is the oldest person in the Bible? or What is the shortest verse in the Bible? Im talking about these verses and but principles, the important things. There are blatant, constant and gross misunderstandings. We live in a cloud of Biblical misinformation, it goes unchallenged because through pastors to parishioners, media like books, radio, blogs and Christian TV and the worst of all the theological viruses passed from Christian-to- Christian in small talk and Bible studies. I recently wrote a blog on abiding in Christ, a subject generally misunderstood, see my How to Abide in Christ blog. I also have a poll on squidoo that shows how off; how wrong people are on the subject of abiding as stated in John 15. I think the only people in the poll that got it right are my friends who Ive spoken to on this matter. This isnt not a trivial scripture. These are core understandings; issues that affect the practice of Christianity. Okay, much ado but here we go. We have read the scripture that says Do not grow weary of doing good for in due time you will reap a harvest. The question is what is the harvest? What do you think? What do your friends say on this? How do the use it? This scripture is often used to say, Hey, do not give up on so-and-so, keep praying and keep loving soand-so and hell eventually get saved. Now, I think this is good advice but not what the scripture is saying. This scripture matters because it is core. Without exception this is the understanding of this scripture, Ive not met anyone who has gotten it right. Re-read it, remember to understand a scripture the rule is context, context, context. The scripture talks about damnation and salvation. It talks about pleasing the flesh or the spirit. It uses metaphoric language of sowing and reaping. The scripture reference is Gal 6:7-11: Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. 11 See what large letters I use as I write to you with my own hand! Lets do a quick synopsis. Over this subject there is deception and he clarifies that God principles are what follows. Thats how He rolls. He uses reap and sow three times once in the principle, this is how God works, then for those who please the flesh, followed by pleasing the Spirit. You reap what you sow, if to please the flesh, death is the harvest (reaping is harvesting) and if to please the Spirit the harvest is eternal life. Then he encourages to not give up, not to grow weary. And he reminds of the first principle of reaping and sowing by using the word harvest, which he references as eternal life. So lets put this in our own words to help us see more clearly. Note Im putting this in my own words because of the tendency toward misreading we have because of the misguided influences; we have corrupted our vision. Here it is in my vernacular Hey, God says you better watch how you live, do not be confused. Heaven and Hell are in the balance, watch out. You are gonna get tired in this work but do not give up and start doing the old flesh stuff. Keep doing well especially to your brothers who are working like you are. Be encouraged by this if you do not give up you are gonna have eternal life. It is a promise. How do we get it so wrong, what is wrong with our vision. This is scary, it should make us wonder Am I doing this in a lot of other essential scripture? Remember, context, context, context!
