AGRICULTURAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN SIVAGANGAI DISTRICT

1. Importance of Agriculture: Agriculture is the mainstay of the Indian economy because of its high share in employment and livelihood creation. Its contribution to the nations GDP is about 18.5% in 2006-2007. It is important source of food grains and nonfood grains and demand for many industrial products, particularly fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural implements and a variety of consumers goods. 2. Need for Agricultural Development: The growth of agriculture is essential not only for self reliance but also for meeting the food and nutritional security of the people. Development in agriculture has a maximum cascading impact on all other sectors, leading to the spread of benefits over the entire economy and largest segment of population. Our population is expected to be 1.4 million by 2020. The increasing population, coupled with growing income will generate increased demand for food grains and non food grain crop0s.Accelerationj of growth of this sector will not only push the overall GDP growth upwards,it would also make the growth more inclusive. 3. Need for Agricultural Entrepreneurs: Human resource development of the persons engaged in agriculture is necessary not only to have greater penetration of better technology but also new skill sets would be necessary to enable underemployed labour in this sector to get absorbed in other fast growing sectors. Agricultural entrepreneurs helps to provide education and employment opputunities to people especially those located in struggling regions. The entrepreneur program in Agriculture should be designed how to sustainably use agriculture and the agricultural entrepreneurs strive to develop agrarian prosperity while also focusing of sustainable development.

Agricultural entrepreneurs are practicably useful in transforming rural communities by utilizing education in practical application Government of Tamilnadu has taken significant initiatives in this year in second revolution in Agriculture to double the income of the farming people. Domestic and foreign prospective entrepreneurs should come to invest towards developing large integrated agriculture capabilities such as below. 1. food grain milling industry. 2.fruits and vegetables processing industry. 3.dairy products. 4.processing of poultry and eggs ,meat and meat products. 5.fish processing. 6.bread,oilseeds,meals(edible),breakfast foods ,biscuits, confectionery and including cocoa processing and chocolates malts extract, protein isolate, high protein food weaning food. 7.alcoholic drinks from non molasses base. 8.aerated water,soft drinks and other processing foods. 9.specisiged packaging for food processing industries . 10. other allied agriculture industries. 4.Need for Research: Innovation is originally is coming from latin word INNOVANE which means to make something new and entrepreneur sees it as a successful exploitations of new ideas and experience. A small in the rural area would catch up thee most of the population and that would lead to the improvement of livelihood of people. Entrepreneur has the ability to perceive latest economic oppurtunities and deviceinnovative stratigies to increase the demand for their goods.

Technology,competion and workforce are increasing in todays business environment and it has become most difficult challenge for new entrepreneurs. Agriculture development rate in tamilnadu should be increased. Entrepreneur development is sum of the invention and innovation. In agriculture day by day new innovations are updated so that there is need of the agricultural entrepreneurship development in rural area. 5.Objective of Research: In Sivagangai district most of the land are kept ideal and parent organic soil base. And that can be effectively utilized. And it is underdeveloped district that need development. In this attempt of this research study the following aspects are taken into main objectives. 1. Training and development of already existing entrepreneurs. 2. Identifying the oppurtunities and indentifying the new entrepreneurs. 3. Rural entrepreneurs campaign. 4. Role of government in development of Agricultural entrepreneurship. 5. Implementing Innovation technology in rural village. 6. Improvement of credit facility for the development of agricultural entrepreneurship. 7. Other latest progress in this subject,will be taken into account in research. 6.Research design: The research analysis is designed as an empirical one based on survey method in sivagangai district.
