I Was Just Thinkin Ethics AMuck I was just thinkin, ethics has gone amuck!

In our society, today, we have, in our great wisdom, determined there must be some laws on the books which determine when ethics are in violation. Ethics1, is something that determines what is ones duty to do the right thing. Dr. Laura has often said, Now, go do the right thing! So what is the truth of the right thing? I would suggest that something that determines is love, but not just any love, but the love of the creator God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Well, this nation was established with an eternal script for the right thing (love of God), as its foundational standard of right and wrong. The problem we have today is that a minority of people do not like this standard because it tells them the things they are doing, in many cases, is wrong and there are eternal consequences for their actions. For example in the Declaration of Independence: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." One might say, What has this got to do with ethics? And, I would say, It references the One who made these certain (limited) rights self-evident, the Creator. The Creator, as was clearly recognized by the founders, was Almighty God and the text for determining certain rights and, I might add, boundaries, was the Holy Bible. This is the source for determining how our culture, our nation is to function ethically, oops, and morally. Ethics from the Bible states clearly that sin (oh no, the three letter word that sends terror to the sinner) is against God and man. This includes such heinous things as lying, stealing, being a false witness, ignoring the truth, talking out of two sides of your mouth, fornication, drunkenness, leaders who oppress the poor with burdensome laws, judges who use precedence to determine an individual case because they lack discernment of evil (oh no, this word troubles our pop psychologists) motivations, being disrespectful, disobedient to parents, greed, lust, misapplication of power, You get the point, dont you? Now we have a few legislators who have presumed upon themselves, they can determine what is ethical or not and ignore the foundational principles from which this nation was established. Sadly, our legislators have become so emaciated from the lack of knowledge and obedience to the word of God, they fail to stand boldly for the Creator and pursue the right to life (abortion), liberty (displays of reverence for God, the Creator) and the pursuit of happiness (eternal joy as described in the Holy Bible). Oh, did I mention? The motivation is the love of God.
