Visitor Advice LeafIet

Introduction
Health and Safety legislation dictates that we will take all measures, so far as reasonably practical, to ensure your
health and safety whilst on-board. We therefore draw your attention to the information outlined in this
leaflet.
Recording your visit
On arrival you will requested to complete the visitor book. You will be issued with a visitor badge which you are
required to wear during the entirety of your visit. Please ensure it is visible at all times. You are required to record
the time of your departure in the visitor book and return your visitor badge.
GeneraI RuIes
Animals (apart from guide dogs), drugs and alcohol are prohibited on this vessel.
Personal belongings must not be left unattended.
Smoking is permitted in designated areas only
Please note
Should your visit include bringing hazardous materials on-board, please inform a ships officer.
ontractors
ontractors must not commence work until relevant 'Permit to Work' forms have been completed, signed and
authorised by the hief Engineer or the hief Officer. When visiting the Bridge, Engineroom or Galley, you must be
escorted by a crew member at all times unless the task being carried out makes this impractical. You are required
to adhere to all of the appropriate and approved procedures and fully comply with:
OAll health and safety legislation and regulations
OAll local health and safety regulations
OAll internal and external warning notices
You will also be required to use appropriate personal protective equipment.

2ergency vacuation Procedure
f you are remaining on-board during a sailing, details of the ship emergency procedures will be explained to you
by the the ships Safety Officer prior to sailing.
f you are visiting only while the vessel is in port, on hearing 'crew call' (one prolonged tone on the ship's PA
system followed by the spoken message "crew call x3) proceed immediately to the ships access point where you
completed the visitors log.
n the event that you discover a fire you should immediately raise the alarm by:
OShouting "F#E, F#E, F#E
OBreaking the glass of the nearest fire alarm call point
OProceed to your muster station if at sea
On port when working in:
the engine room, proceed to the Engine ontrol #oom
accommodation, proceed to reception Deck 5
vehicle decks or fwd machinery spaces proceed to argo office at the stern door on the main deck
Never put yourself at risk, fire fighting should only be attempted when it is safe to do so. Under no circumstances
should the safety of individuals be compromised, never attempt to move burning objects.
Please note
%he fire drill is carried out on Sunday morning of each week between 10:30-11:30am.

For your own protection and the protection of others, we will employ every possible measure to prevent accidents
and the risk of injury. We expect everyone who visits this ship to co-operate with us and make the
same commitment. %herefore you are requested to comply with any health and safety instructions issued
to you by any member of the ships crew.
#eporting an accident or injury
An accident/near miss/injury/illness or unsafe condition must be reported immediately to a ships officer or crew
member.
First Aid support
We have a team of qualified First Aiders who can come to your assistance, if required.
Protective clothing
All visitors must wear Hi-vis clothing, hard hat and safety footwear outside of the accommodation areas. Visitors to
the galley must be suitably attired.
#estricted areas
While on-board, you are restricted to the area of interest relating to your visit; you are not permitted to enter any
other part of the vessel. Work on the bridge or in the engine room must be supervised by a member of the crew.
