Introduction

I'll tell you about the Americanization of Halloween, the history, impact on society, marketing, and as has been globalized. Also I will tell what impact it has on different parts of the world, as people spend on this celebration and as changed by the time.

Halloweens Celebration

According to some scholars, the observance of Halloween or All Hallows' Eve combines pre-Christian and Christian traditions; other scholars maintain "that Hallowe'en, as the eve of All Saints' Day, originated entirely independently of Samhain and some question the existence of a specific pan-Celtic religious festival which took place on 31st October/1st November." Historian Nicholas Rogers, exploring the origins of Halloween, notes that while "some folklorists have detected its origins in the Roman feast of Pomona, the goddess of fruits and seeds, or in the festival of the dead called Parentalia, it is more typically linked to the Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-an or sow-in)", derived from the Old Irish Samuin meaning "summer's end". In 1840 the festival comes to America, where it is deeply rooted. Irish immigrants passed versions of the tradition during the Great Irish Famine. It was they who spread the custom to carve the "Jack-o'-lantern" (hollow giant pumpkin with a candle inside), inspired by the legend of "Stingy Jack." However, the party did not begin until 1921 massive celebrarse11. That year was the first Halloween parade in Minnesota and other states then followed. The party gradually acquired a popularity in the coming decades.

The role of Halloween in the society now is like a party, the kids go to ask for candies, the people tell horror stories, etc.

You know how much people spend on this tradition? In this year the amount expected was 6.86 billion of dollars the average was 72.31 for each person in the United States.(Candies, Costumes and Decorations)Only in this country $1billion was expected to be spent on childrens costumes $1.2 billion was expected to be spent on adult costumes $310 million was expected to be spent on costumes for pets The most popular costumes for the childrens: 1. Conclusion

I think this celebration is massive and do not understand how Americans spend so much in this celebration, I also think that much has changed meaning as before and as the title says it Americanized and changed to what they referred to the Celts.
