Indefinite Detention Bill Passes Senate 93-7 Infowars.com--Friday, December 2, 2011 Ambiguous but alarming new wording, which is tucked into the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and was just passed by the Senate, is reminiscent of the extraordinary measures introduced by the Nazis after they took power in 1933. And the relative lack of reaction so far calls to mind the oddly calm indifference with which most Germans watched the erosion of the rights that had been guaranteed by their own Constitution. As one German writer observed, With sheepish submissiveness we watched it unfold, as if from a box at the theater. The writer was Sebastian Haffner, a young German lawyer worried at what he saw in 1933 in Berlin, but helpless to stop it since, as he put it the German people collectively and limply collapsed, yielded and capitulated. The result of this millionfold nervous breakdown, wrote Haffner at the time, is the unified nation, ready for anything, that is today the nightmare of the rest of the world. The Senate bill, in effect, revokes an 1878 law known as the Posse Comitatus Act, which banned the Army from domestic law enforcement after the military had been used and often abused in that role during Reconstruction. Until now that law has been taken very seriously. Military officers have had their careers brought to an abrupt halt by involving federal military assets in purely civilian criminal matters. The Senate also codified into law the power of the U.S. military to indefinitely detain an American citizen with no charge, no trial and no oversight whatsoever with the passage of S. 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act. One amendment that would have specifically blocked the measures from being used against U.S. citizens was voted down and the final bill was passed 93-7. This horrendous bill technically turns all of America into a battlefield and subjects American citizens to indefinite military detention without charge or trial. To make matters even worse, only seven of our so-called representatives voted against the bill, proving once and for all (if anyone had any remaining doubts) that our government is totally corrupted.

Feinstein was able to include a largely symbolic amendment which states that nothing in the bill changes current law relating to the detention of U.S. citizens and legal aliens, but this measure is meaningless according to Republican Congressman Justin Amash, a fierce critic of the bill. Some have asserted that Sen. Feinsteins amendment, S Amdt 1456, protects the rights of American citizens and preserves constitutional due process. Unfortunately, it does not. Its just more cleverly worded nonsense, Amash wrote on his Facebook page. Though the White House has threatened to veto the bill, the fact that Obama administration lawyers yesterday reaffirmed their backing for state sponsored assassination of U.S. citizens would suggest otherwise. Not voting for the bill, or in other words upholding the oath to protect the Constitution, has been described over and over again as political suicide. The bill puts military detention authority on steroids and makes it permanent, American citizens and others are at greater risk of being locked away by the military without charge or trial, said Christopher Anders, senior legislative counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union. As Spencer Ackerman highlights, the bill completely violates the sixth amendment in that it allows American citizens to be locked up indefinitely, including in a foreign detention center, without any burden of proof whatsoever. An American merely has to be declared a terrorist and they can be abducted off the streets and never seen again. The detention mandate to use indefinite military detention in terrorism cases isnt limited to foreigners. And what exactly is repealed here? The repealed Section 925. Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice clearly states, (a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy (b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct. These laws are gone, which effectually means a legalization of not just gays in the military, but the gay sex act in the military.

Avian influenza virus, TEM (NIBSC/Science Photo Library) A virus with the potential to kill up to half the worlds population has been made in a lab. Now academics and bioterrorism experts are arguing over whether to publish the recipe, and whether the research should have been done in the first place. The virus is an H5N1 bird flu strain which was genetically altered to become much more contagious. It was created by Ron Fouchier of the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, who first presented his work to the public at an influenza conference in Malta in September. Fouchier said the strain circulates in animals, particularly birds, but rarely affects humans. In the ten or so years since bird flu first emerged in Asia, fewer than 600 cases have been reported in humans. But the H5N1 strain is particularly vicious, killing roughly half of patients diagnosed with it. What stops it from becoming a major threat to public health is that it does not readily transmit from human to human. Or at least it didnt until now.

Researchers in Fouchiers team used ferrets test animals which closely mimic the human response to influenza and transmitted H5N1 from one to another to make it more adaptable to new hosts. After 10 generations, the virus had mutated to become airborne, which means ferrets became ill from merely being near other diseased animals A genetic study showed that the new, dangerous strain had only five mutations compared to the original one, and all of them were earlier seen in the natural environment just not all at once. Fouchiers strain is as contagious as the human seasonal flu, but is likely to cause many more fatalities if released. I cant think of another pathogenic organism that is as scary as this one, Paul Keim, a microbial geneticist who has worked on anthrax for many years, told Science Insider. I dont think anthrax is scary at all compared to this. Now Keim, who chairs the US National Science Advisory Board for Biosecurity (NSABB), and other members of the body, have a very difficult decision to make. Fouchier wants his study to be published. So does virologist Yoshihiro Kawaoka, who led similar research in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and the University of Tokyo, and reached comparable results. And it is up to NSABB to give them the green light. Many academics and biosecurity experts are naturally cautious about releasing information which could provide any bioterrorist with a ready recipe to hold the world to ransom. Some argue that such work should never have been done in the first place and call for international monitoring of potentially harmful research. US Researchers And Pharmaceutical Companies Conducting Human Experimentation in Africa By Farid Zakaria--November 7, 2011 "PBFC" -- A new policy brief faults prominent institutions and drug companies like Pfizer, Columbia University, Johns Hopkins University, and Population Council, for their involvement in unethical and illegal human experimentation in Africa. The report is titled Non-Consensual Research in Africa: The Outsourcing of Tuskegee in reference to the illegal human experiment conducted in Tuskegee, Alabama, between 1932 and 1972 by the US Public Health Service. In that experiment, some 600 impoverished African-American men were observed in a study on the progression of untreated syphilis. Some of the men were intentionally infected with the disease and all of them were denied the cure. Regrettably, the report notes, no one was held accountable for this crime against humanity. The new report details human experiments led by US researchers and drug companies on Africans who are typically undereducated, poor, and lack full understanding of their rights. The human subjects often are led to believe that they are receiving medical treatment from governmental health services or health ministries. These practices hearken back to the appalling experiments carried out by US researchers in Guatemala in the 1940s where hundreds of Guatemalans were deliberately infected with sexually transmitted diseases without information or consent. President Obama formally apologized to Guatemala for these experiments last year. Human experimentation in the United States is regulated by the Office of Research Integrity and various Ethical Research Institutional Boards. Many African countries lack these institutions. Even when they exist, they lack independence and are controlled by corrupt government officials.

In one experiment on HIV sponsored by Gilead Sciences, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and operated by Family Health International, Cameroonian subjects were given details about the experiment in English even though many spoke only French and were illiterate. Five women were allegedly infected with HIV in the experiment but were not given antiretroviral drugs. In another experiment in Nigeria led by Pfizer physicians, researchers injected children with an antibiotic called Trovan during a meningitis outbreak without providing their families with informed consent forms that fully disclose the side effects and purpose of the experiment. Eleven children died and many were left paralyzed. In South Africa and Namibia, mothers with HIV/AIDS are routinely sterilized without their informed consent. Countries that perform these procedures are known to receive funding in the form of grants and incentives from USAID and other aid organizations. The report explains that US researchers and drug companies violate the laws and protocols of the Declaration at Helsinki (1964) and the Belmont Report which provide ethical guidelines on human experimentation. Moreover, the results of unethical and fraudulent experiments are laundered in the United States and Europe through the peer-review system. The good news is that I do know of a man who witnessed to Steve Jobs! He was an Apple employee who took the necessary time to share with him about Jesus Christ. But because of Steves rejection of Jesus Christ, there is a big problem: John 3:36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. Salvation was offered to Mr. Jobs, and he had the total ability to accept it or the total ability to reject it. His rejection of what Jesus Christ did for him when He died on the cross at Calvary had consequences for him on planet earth, and now will have eternal consequences as well. He is currently burning in hell until the time he goes before God at the Great White Throne Judgment to then be cast into the Lake of Fire for Eternity. Apples logo is an apple with a bite out of it. Ironically, the thing that Eve did is the same thing Mr. Jobs did. They both rebelled against God. And there will always be consequences for that. So remember to be thankful for: 1. Your Salvation 2. By John Blake, CNN--Fri September 23, 2011 (CNN) -- Nina De Santo was about to close her New Jersey hair salon one winter's night when she saw him standing outside the shop's glass front door. It was Michael. He was a soft-spoken customer who'd been going through a brutal patch in his life. His wife had divorced him after having an affair with his stepbrother, and he had lost custody of his boy and girl in the ensuing battle. He was emotionally shattered, but De Santo had tried to help. She'd listened to his problems, given him pep talks, taken him out for drinks. When De Santo opened the door that Saturday night, Michael was smiling. "Nina, I can't stay long," he said, pausing in the doorway. "I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for everything." They chatted a bit more before Michael left and De Santo went home. On Sunday she received a strange call from a salon employee. Michael's body had been found the previous morning -- at least nine hours before she talked to him at her shop. He had committed suicide. If Michael was dead, who, or what, did she talk to that night? "It was very bizarre," she said of the 2001 encounter. "I went through a period of disbelief. How can you tell someone that you saw this man, solid as ever, walk in and talk to you, but he's dead?" Today, De Santo has a name for what happened that night: "crisis apparition." She stumbled onto the term while reading about paranormal activities after the incident. According to paranormal investigators, a crisis apparition is the spirit of a recently deceased person who visits someone they had a close emotional connection with, usually to say goodbye. Simma Lieberman said she's experienced that ominous feeling and has never forgotten it -- though it took place more than 40 years ago. Today, Lieberman is a workplace diversity consultant based in Albany, California. In the late 1960s though, she was a young woman in love. Her boyfriend, Johnny, was a mellow hippie "who loved everybody," a guy so nice that friends called him a pushover, she said. She loved Johnny, and they purchased an apartment together and decided to marry. Then one night, while Lieberman was at her mother's home in the Bronx, the phone rang and she answered. Johnny was on the line, sounding rushed and far away. Static crackled. "I just want you to know that I love you, and I'll never be mean to anybody again," he said. There was more static, and then the line went dead. Lieberman was left with just a dial tone. She tried to call him back to no avail. When she awoke the next morning, an unsettled feeling came over her. She said it's hard to put into words, but she could no longer feel Johnny's presence. Then she found out why. "Several hours later, I got a call from his mother that he had been murdered the night before," she said. Johnny was shot in the head as he sat in a car that night. Lieberman thinks Johnny somehow contacted her after his death -- a crisis apparition reaching out not through a vision or a whiff of perfume, but across telephone lines. She's sorted through the alternatives over the years. Could he have called before or during his murder? Lieberman doesn't think so. This was the era before cell phones. She said the murderer wasn't likely to let him use a pay phone, and he couldn't have called after he was shot because he died instantly. Only years later, when she read an article about other static-filled calls people claimed to have received from beyond the grave, did it make sense, she said. Johnny was calling to say goodbye. Josh Harris' experience baffled him as well. It involved his grandfather, Raymond Harris. Josh was Raymond's first grandchild. They spent countless hours together fishing and doing yardwork in their hometown of Hackleburg, Alabama. You saw one, you saw the other. Those days came to an end in 1997 when Raymond Harris was diagnosed with lung cancer. The doctors gave him weeks to live. Josh, 12 at the time, visited his grandfather's house one night to keep vigil as his "pa-pa" weakened, but his family ordered him to return home, about two miles away. Josh said he was asleep on the couch in his home around 2 a.m. when he snapped awake. He looked up. His grandfather was standing over him.

"At first, it kind of took me by surprise," said Harris, a maintenance worker with a gravelly Southern accent. "I wondered why he was standing in the hallway and not in his house with everyone else." His grandfather then spoke, Harris said. "He just looked at me, smiled and said, 'Everything will be OK.' " His grandfather then turned around and started walking toward the kitchen. Harris rose to follow but spun around when the phone rang. An aunt who was in another room answered. "When I turned back around to look, he was gone," Harris said. As if on cue, his aunt came out of the room crying, "Josh, your pa-pa is gone." "No, he was just here," Harris told his aunt, insisting that his grandfather had just stopped by to say everything was OK. He said it took him a day to accept that his grandfather had died. "Honestly, before that, I never believed in the paranormal," he said. "I thought it was all fake and made up. But I just woke up and I saw him. It couldn't be my mind playing a trick. He looked solid." Fourteen years after his grandfather's death, there's another detail from that night that's still lodged in Harris' memory.
