November 3rd 2011 Slide 2 Slide 3 both motor and sensory information motor- ventral, sensory-dorsal.

Motor efferent sensory afferent. If to contract a msucles send out info form CNS infor is reached to motor and runs out ventral horn and it reaches the ventral root, these are the same as cervical rootsthe roots either go on and feed into msucles or contribute to plexus. - Motor and sensory info are only separated at horns. - Back muscles different locations for roots, - Horns feed into roots, all muscles use ventrl rots, back muscles use dorsal roots Slide 4 Slide 5 Linea Alba- is a tendonous line located in center of ab region and is a large insertion point for many ab muscles. Lies between the two primary ab muscles the rectus abdominous still use dorsal roots off of the spinal cord. Runs from one adjacent vertebrae to the next intertransverarius, run from one transverse process to antoher Rotataroes- runs from spinus process to transverse process Multifidus- same as rot but skips a vertebrae Interspinalis- runs between spinous processes Help move spinal coloumn termed the erector spinae muscles, attach to spine and transverse processes of the vertebral column and they keep us upright and give us our proper form and shape. Iliocostalis- originiates from the illium and inserts all along the ribs Thoracio-lubar fascia is a diamond shaped fascia that is at the small of your back, it is an anchoring point of back muscles. Longgissiumus, orginiates form fascia but inserts onto the transverse process of all the vertebral bones up to the base of the skull. we will say cervical long, thoracicetc. SPinalis orginiates from the fascia and attaches up the spinous processes of the vertebral coloumn, it extends all the way up the back. (semispinalisis) capitis cervicalis thorasis) I LIKE STANDING!!!!! They are the TRUE msucles of the back. These muscles get tired because they are always working unless being still.

There are three tendous intersections between the rectus ab. Making it have multiple bellies, these intersections are called tendonous intersections, this creates the 6 pack. Muscles on side originate posterior aspect and come around to anterior and cover over the rectus ab muscles and insert onto the linea alba. They move around rectus ab muscles. 3 layers of them. Most external is the external oblique, fibers run in oblique fashion. Before it reaches the rectus ab muscle the muscle belly ends and it tusn into a tick fascia like tendon. This sheet goes over top of the rectus ab muscle and inserts onto the linea alba. Internal oblique Transverse abdominal muscle (deepest) runs in horizontal plane, these run in behind the sheet behind the rectus and insert to the linea aba.
