Learning opportunities for faculty and students to interact with ICT experts
WebEx helps students learn and enables teachers to educate, playing a critical role in preparing the workforce of the future in Cambodia.

Technology creates a virtual classroom experience for students and Instructors in Cambodia
More than three-quarters of top education officials around the world believe technology can play a major role in how students learn and how teachers educate, according to a global survey commissioned by Cisco and conducted by Clarus Research Group, a Washington, D.C.-based research firm. Mr Sovanvichet Pheng, a former instructor from Sunrise Institute of Technology is doing just that. Leaving Cambodia to work in Taiwan, Sovanvichet uses WebEx to connect with Networking Academy students in Cambodia. Being able to teach students using WebEx has made it possible for me to create a virtual learning experience. WebEx allows me to continue my lectures from Taiwan and cross collaborate with other instructors within the Networking Academy program.

Networking Academy in Cambodia provides Instructor Professional Development retooling sessions for local instructors over the WebEx platform. In collaboration with Sunrise Institute of Technology and the Cambodian Quality Assurance team, a four hour Instructor retooling session was conducted recently. The session involved 29 Instructors from 9 local Academies across Cambodia. Sophany Hong, area academy manager for Networking Academy in Cambodia, says The retooling sessions allow Networking Academy to continue learning for its instructor community. We are able to connect our Cisco subject matter experts located in other countries with our local Academy instructors. Our instructors are really excited to be given an opportunity to interact and learn from the best in the business. Continued learning on the latest technologies is a vital part of their professional development, it allows instructors to stay current and continue to provide students with a high standard of networking and ICT education. Christina Anthony, regional development program manager for Networking Academy in South East Asia states, One local academy in Cambodia sees WebEx as a major opportunity for them to build a greater virtual student body and enrich learning opportunities by diversifying faculty, students and expert viewpoints.
