SyncMaster TFT-LCD Monitor: This installs the driver for the Monitor you are actually looking at,

so when you insert this CD and it auto-runs all what you need to install is the driver nothing else.
1.

VGA Card Drivers: This obviously installs the VGA Card. Now the way to install it since this CD does not have the auto-run option, so you go to the My computer and u right click on the D: icon and u click open. Then you open Gefroce4-MX440 and then Win2K, and at the bottom of this file there is Setup, click that and follow the procedure.
2.

Pivot Software: Thats for installing the monitor settings and options; you need this software to view properly with your monitor. (This CD has auto-run).
3.

Nero 5 Burning Rom: Thats the software for copying CDs and Dad knows how to use the program, it is very easy if you follow the steps, and if you read the help icon.
4.

Intel Express Installer CD: Thats the motherboard CD, and it has auto-run. When it opens you have to check the boxes to install the software. You will be able to know if the software is already installed or not by simply reading the word not installed or installed next to the software. You have to see next to all of them Installed except 2 which you basically cannot install.
5.

Hp DeskJet 840C: That you will not need, since we are using windows XP; the driver of this printer is already installed in windows.
6.

Photo Express CDs and Color Flat Bed Scanner: The Photo Express is just a program to Scan images, and the latter is just the driver of the Scanner, which windows wont detect if you dont install it.
7.

Sound Blaster: This installs the Digital Sound card of the PC, now what are you supposed to do after installing
8.

it, go to the control panel and open Sound and Audio Devices, and at the bottom you have Speaker Settings and advanced, the speaker setup there should be 5.1 surround sound speakers. Then go back to the control panel and open Audio-HQ and click test if you hear the 5 speakers then they are all rightly connected (and the Digital output space shouldnt be ticked), if not then check the connection behind. Now about the connection of the Audio System on this PC, here is an entire explanation of it. (Before I start off there are 2 wires coming out of the CPU itself (thats at the back of it), one is labeled MIC and one is labeled AUX). a) You have 5 inputs in the sound card starting from right to left, orange, blue, pink, green, black. The Orange input is used only for the orange wire coming out of the subwoofer, and thats only for the central speaker to operate, (and it will only operate when you are playing a DVD, because its digital). The Blue input is basically for nothing, so ignore it. The Pink input is just for the MIC labeled wire coming out from the CPU, and thats to connect the front MIC socket which is at the bottom of the Case (the right socket) to the motherboard, and then you can simply connect the MIC from the front, using the Headphones, (which by the way can work without that extra piece for the MIC, so dont worry Yasmeen, but that doesnt mean that u can throw it away, it makes the sound much clearer). The Black input, and yeah I am sure you are wondering what happened to the Green one, well I will talk about it next. The Black input is used only for the black wire coming out of the subwoofer, and thats for the rear speakers (leave them connected at all times, you can simply control them using the volume control on the desk). The Green Input is the most complicated one of all, there are three wires you can insert and each has a function. Let us start of with the wire coming out of the screen (its white with a cylinder piece at its bottom), if you connect that one to the green input the monitor speakers will operate, and yes after that you can stick your headphones into the monitor socket. Now the last use of the green input is the AUX wire that I have spoken about earlier (the one that is coming out of the CPU, yup thats the one), you can connect that one in the green socket and that will activate the

front socket for the headphones. Now you may be wondering why dont we just connect the screen audio and use the headphones there, well if you want to use both the headphones and the MIC, one socket is at the bottom of the case and one is in the monitor, so I am afraid that wont be possible, unless you get another set of headphones, and connect them to the monitor, and connect the ones I bought with the MIC to the MIC socket at the bottom of the case (using only the MIC feature of it). I know this is confusing but hey try it, and you will understand it all. Intel Camera CD: Okay bad news people, the camera is not compatible with windows XP so I dont know if you want to change your windows for the camera, or try to find a solution maybe (that is in other words sending it to Quality with the CPU) because I tried it over the phone with Dave the Engineer and he insisted on getting the computer. **Now about Quality, there is a man there called Jiten, tell him that you are coming on the behalf of Ahmad, he is the man I built the PC with, and we are good friends, so he should not charge a penny for any assistance or service, and of course if you face any big problem with the PC remember it is under warranty for the next year, just take the bill and head there (Quality).
9.

Logitech iTouch 1.4: Thats for the keyboard. You dont really need to install it unless you want to use the additional top buttons of the keyboard, and which I find them completely unnecessary.
10.

Modem Blaster: Thats the software for installing the modem (thats the normal built in modem), which is detectable by windows, so you dont need to install it under XP.
11.

CD labeled Software: That CD is VERY IMPORTANT; it has programs that you will need while using this PC. Now I am going to make a brief description of each program inside the program file in that CD. (By the way the entire CD is on our desktop, and the folder is called CD). a) Yahoo messenger: I am not going to comment
12.

b) MSN: One comment here, Aboudi dont install MSN plus, it seriously causes delays for the CPU, and it is a door for viruses. c) Grokster: I think you all know how it works, but let me just clarify few points: The username for the program is suzy6969 and the email I provided was an old email I dont use and thats hacker_a@hotmail.com. When you are downloading you can preview what you are downloading by simply right clicking on it under the traffic bar. Some downloads will not preview, and thats because of the big size of it, or if it doesnt support any media program we have. In the case of music, it should always preview. As for changing options, well you can go to tools then options, then you will find beside username suzy6969. There will be 2 boxes at the bottom of the window, dont tick either of them. As for traffic put 50 for maximum number of downloads, and 1 for maximum number of uploads. (Do not disable the file sharing by ticking the box at the bottom of the window, this will cause problems for your downloads). As for advanced you should see a box with 200 and the one under with unlimited, and the bottom boxes with no ticks. As for the filter, you should have No filter, and all the boxes not ticked. As for the firewall there shouldnt be any box ticked, and forget the last one (messages). d) Dap53: Thats a download accelerator, speeds up your downloads when you are using explorer only (it will not speed the downloads of grokster). This program tries to find the program you want to download all over the net, and when you start downloading, it downloads from various websites, so you get a better speed, and the big advantage of this program is that if the download cuts (if you get d/c) it will automatically resume when you are back online. e) Msnaddin: Its simply an update for MSN. f) Winamp3 full: Runs music. Mainly MP3z. g) Divx 502 Bundle: This is necessary for playing videos, and the same applies for SLDcodecpack, these 2 programs are the aid to run any media file. Look you setup these programs just for the media player not to tell you downloading codec and cannot run media file, they (the 2 programs) themselves are not good media players.

h) Real1Player: Well just one comment, you only need this

program for Arabic music, so I advise to download the old version and not to use this one (and you can play all media files using media player). You can download from www.mazeeka.com , and from there you wont need realplayer because theyre all MP3z at that site. i) A blue E with 011-0045-036 next to it: This is for the DSL. Now we have a lot to mention here. 1st of all make sure you setup the program thats by unzipping it and the seeing a small box saying successfully unzipped. Then go to your C: drive (thats by opening My computer) and you will find a file called SS33 open that file and run the setup file in it. After that restart and when windows starts you will find a blue E at the right bottom corner of your screen. Now right click on this E and choose Diagnostics. (You will find this useful if you have any problems with the internet). You will find an option Autoconfig. Click on it then choose ok--> then choose next and next again, then you will have a screen with a VPI and VCI value. The VPI should be 0 and the VCI 100 click next, then you will have to choose a protocol, choose 1483 routed the click next then press save and then next and then save to log then ok then ok again, and yes mission accomplished, restart the machine and pray it works. Oh yes one more thing left, this will be mentioned in the dialup part at the bottom. But the your internet should be working by this time, if not then apply the procedure in the dialup part. 13. Windows XP CD: Thats for installing windows XP (the code is on the CD cover). This CD is bootable (this means that if u switch off the PC and the CD is inside you can boot from the CD). Now in very messed up situations where you need to reinstall windows or format the hard-drive, or even repair windows this CD comes in handy. This is a brief way of using this CD. (By the way anything happens with the windows ask Tariq for assistance).

a) There actually isnt a lot to talk about other than after

inserting the CD and then restarting the PC, you will be asked if you want to load from the CD (press any button and it will). Then follow the step by step procedure. I you want to just repair Windows then you can through the steps, or if you want delete the partition then create a new one, and format it using NTFC, and that will totally format your entire hard-drive. So its up to the situation, and yes is he answer if you were wondering if u can make a copy of XP over the one you have already, but its better of to delete the existing one. (All what I have mentioned you will see in the step by step procedure when you boot from the CD!). Word XP: Thats for installing Microsoft word, and thats too easy to talk about. Emirates Internet CD: No use for it since the Shamel program is already in my Software CD.
14.

Startup: Well dad knows how to delete something from startup. DVD: Use any program to play DVDs such as Windows Media Player, Real Player 1, Divx Player 2.0. Of course the same programs can be used to run video CD, or normal downloaded .avi or .mpeg or .mpg or .ram. You can play music with Winamp, and yes you can play video clips on this new Winamp 3, and of course you can play music on any of the 3 top programs mentioned. Now if you want to change a file format, that is you want this file to open in Real Player all the time what you do is rename the folder and add .ram at the end of the file name, but before that delete whatever is after the . Then add .ram. Or simply right click on the file and select open with and choose the program you want it to open with all the time, and then tick Always choose this program at the bottom of that screen and thats it. Now if you dont have the open with option then you can either use the renaming method mentioned above Control-Alt-Delete: This shows you the task manager, where you can shut down programs in a direct way, and you can detect the process

and the performance of the PC. Now in the Process bar, you find the programs operating and the memory usage of the program, if you find that there is program using a lot of memory and you realize that its running the machine slow, well then you can just end the process of that program.

Deleting Software: The best way of doing this is by entering the control panel and choosing the Add or Remove Software and then uninstalling it from there. If the program doesnt uninstall from there, or you cannot find it there, then you have to manually do it. Changing Monitor Settings: Please do not play with the monitor settings, the settings are at their best, and any change might cause a complete chaos, so believe me and leave them at their present condition. Screens buttons: There are 6 buttons on the screen, theyre very obvious to figure out, but please dont touch the menu button, because the image is at its best, and yes you can use the Auto button if things go wrong. The + and -are for the volume control and they only come in use if the monitor speakers are connected. Power: In the control panel you find Power options you can choose your preferable way and time for shutting down the PC, and the monitor, and yes when the HD shuts off that means the entire CPU shuts down, and any unsaved information will be gone.

Dialup connection: You can always use the dialup connection even with the DSL connected, just make sure before you read on to connect the cable to the modem to the left socket, and thats by pulling the phone cable out first!. I will be leaving a shortcut of My connection on the desktop which you can always connect through. Now to configure it here is a step by step method, which you will find helpful and which you will need when you use the DSL modem too, so please read it. a) Right click on explorer and choose properties, in General (the 1st window which open use auto-blank (and every now and the delete the cookies) for the security try to keep it as low as possible, because sometimes it just bugs, and dont worry theres restriction here. For privacy make it Low. For content leave it alone. Programs and advanced

leave them too. Now lets get down to the main part, and thats connection. Tick the never dial a connection box. Now 1st of all if you find nothing in the white box, press add and follow this procedure. Press next the 1st time the 2nd time and then enter nothing for the number then and press next again then it will quit alone. Now you will find My connection in the white box. Press settings. The 1st box shouldnt be ticked, the 2nd should be ticked and the address should be proxy1@emiraets.net.ae. 3rd box should be ticked and again for the address proxy1@emiraets.net.ae and the port is 8080. 4rth box dont tick it. As for the rest type the user name mns1975, and the password siham975. Then click on advanced and do the following type for the Http proxy1@emiraets.net.ae and 8080 for the port and then tick the box at the bottom. As for the exception that white box at the bottom type ae. Now press OK and Ok again, and then restart and pray.!!
