COLLEGE VISITS TO L.D. BELL


L.D. Bell has scheduled various colleges to visit their campus to help seniors find the school that meets their educational needs. This month the following colleges will be visiting the L.D. Bell Campus: University of Texas at Arlington-November 16th at 10am Texas Tech-November 21st at 1:15pm Interested L.D. Bell students should see Mrs. McGuire in the counseling office before these scheduled visits to see how to be excused from class to talk to these college representatives. Look for the all new T.Y.A.T. PROMOTE COLLEGE EDUCATION IN OUR COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN. In an attempt to promote higher education among the Tongan Community of Texas, T.Y.A.T. will implement the following beginning in August, 2012: Put together a list of current Tongan students in college Put together a list of Tongan college graduates (TX residents) Highlight current college students We look forward to working with you in compiling these lists. Maverick Promise Deadline: April 1, 2012

UT Arlington will continue to offer the Maverick Promise for 20122013. The Maverick Promise is a combination of grants including the Federal Pell Grant and all other federal, state, and institutional grants to pay between 60% and 100% of the cost of tuition and fees.

Students must meet ALL of the following criteria:


Be an undergraduate student paying the in-state tuition rate Be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant Be admitted to UT Arlington by April 1, 2012* Complete and submit all financial aid application forms so that they a are received in the Office of Financial Aid by April 1, 2012 Maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average at UT Arlington Have a family income of $65,000 or less
