P&G TRAINING SESSION ON CAREER MANAGEMENT

U Placement Department has arranged a


training session in collaboration with P&G on Career Management which includedProfession
Preference, Resume BuiIding, Interview Tips and Career Start.
Training session was conducted on 3rd May 2011 by Mr. Umer Alghamdi HR Manager P&G
Saudi Arabia/ Talent Practice leader (Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Pakistan).
Mr. Umer Alghamdi is an excellent presenter, he kept every single student engrossed and
interested. The session was interactive and the students were given opportunity to clear all their
misconceptions about their resume and career issues. The questions asked by students and the
answers Mr. Umer gave were very informative for everyone. There are small things we have all
been doing wrong, which might be insignificant to us but according to Mr. Alghamdi, these are
the things which decide the difference between the resume to be sent to trash or an interview
call.
The Tips Mr. Algahamdi Passed on were:
1. Resume should have a cover page in which we persuade the interviewer to go through the
resume and it should not be more than a single page.
2. Never lie in the resume because they'll know immediately.
3. Make sure your posture is right when seated before the interviewer.
4. Arrive half an hour early so that by the time interview starts you are in the interview room
5. Make your nerves calm
6. Do your homework so that you know as much as you can about the company etc and many and
tips were shared with the students as well.
Mr. Alghamdi took the students through each phase of an interview from looking for the right
jobs to the right things to do in an interview. Throughout his presentations students kept pelting
him with questions which he encouraged highly as it will add to the knowledge of every one
present there. t was a fantastic session and everyone was satisfied and seemed more aware
and knowledgeable about the things they had been doing wrong till now and that is exactly what
the U Placement Department had set out to achieve for U students.
n the end of the session U Management presented him shield, and P&G team distributed
giveaways to every student present in the training.
Thus another successful event concluded with twinkles of hopes in the eyes of students and
thank you smile on their faces for U & its team.

The respected panel of guests included;
1. Mr. Taha Abbas, Head of Training and Development, Bank Alfalah.
2. Mr. Tarique Khan Javed, President, Overseas Pakistani nvestors Forum OPF.
3. Ms. Uzma Basheer Ghaus, CEO, UBG Associates.
4. Ms. Mehwish, Chairperson, 3woGle.
The event took place on 24th February 2011 at U Auditorium, 200 Students participated in the
said event.
The discussion panel spoke about "Professional mage Development with the audience, while
putting forth practical aspects to the questions raised by the students. The discussion panel
emphasized the importance of professional conduct and interpersonal skills required for career
progression.
Students also had the chance to meet the guests over tea and to speak to them in person, for
hands on counseling.
Seminar on Awaking the Leader Within
The office of Corporate Services qra University
organized a Seminar on, "Awaking the Leader Within which was held on 22nd February 2011
at U Main Campus where we had over 2000 students to attend the session by the three guests
representing the civil and the corporate fraternity:
1. Mr. mran Khan, Chairman Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center.
2. Mr. Taher A. Khan, Chairman and Founder nterflow Group.
3. Dr. Zsuzsanna Fajcsak, Founder Alivetm Executive Coaching. A human potential coach.
The guests shared their life experiences to inspire the young leader student at qra to step
forward in their respective fields, be it Fashion, Media, Business or Engineering.
Mr. mran Khan, the most cherished cricketer of our national team, spoke about his situational
leadership, when he was called upon by the cricket loving nation to lead their side to the 1992
Cricket World Cup.
Dr. Zsuzsanna Fajcsak stressed upon the importance of self motivation, healthy lifestyle
focusing on hygiene, healthy diet, and meditation. Being a life coach, she has helped executives
lead a balanced life, who lead a busy life, and have poor work life balance. She believes that
every individual has powers to excel, and they just need to be polished to make them a
successful individual.
Mr. Taher A. Khan founded the nterflow Group in 1983 by starting an advertising agency called
nterflow Communications. 25 years later, the nterflow Group has evolved into a
communications and media force in Pakistan, with 14 companies providing services on a 360
degree platform, stressed on the core essence of entrepreneurship awakening the leader within.
Seminar on "UnIocking Human PotentiaI"
The office of Corporate Services qra University was
pleased to invite Dr. Zsuzsanna Fajcsak, Founder Alive nternational, as guest speaker on 1st
March 2011 at EDC Auditorium where she spoke at length on "Unlocking Human Potential
Dr. Zsuzsanna is a Certified NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Certified Nutrition Specialist
(Member of the American College of Nutrition), Certified in Functional Diagnostic Medicine.
She is passionate about the human mind and its power over physical health and performance.
Dr. Zsuzsanna is an advisor and consultant to several universities, National Sport Councils, as
well as TV programs.
She regularly presents and publishes her work, and conducts workshops in the field of nutrition,
exercise and lifestyle worldwide. She advises people on how to regain and maintain their health.
Being an author, Dr. Zsuzsanna wrote, The Seven Secrets of Long Term Weight Loss, which
was published in 2005 in Hungary. Her mission is to help people make a difference in their lives:
regain and preserve health; live a meaningful and happy life while staying strong and young.
The session was enjoyed by the students as they got the chance to learn something new and as
to how they could explore themselves to unlock their hidden potentials.
