The Old Testament seems to portray

God as capricious and malevolent, pun-

Is this our God? Without minimizing the

sometimes harsh realities of the biblical

record, David Lamb unpacks the com-

the character of God and give coher-

Christian Apologetics

In this systematic text, Douglas Groothuis makes a comprehensive apologetic case for Christian theism. He defends objective truth, presents the key arguments for God from natural theology and makes a case for the credi- bility of Jesus, the incarnation and the resurrection, assessing alternative views along the way.

“Groothuis is a leading evangeli- cal thinker and Christian Apolo- getics is a monumental result of decades of study and reflection. Breathtaking in scope, clear in style, this book is now the go-to text in the field. I know of noth- ing like it.”

to know’—and this is no less true of the Christian than of anyone else. Moreover, a Christian anthropology affirms that humans were made to know their Maker and to love God with all their minds (Matthew 22:37-39). This is often a demanding task, but also a

God in a Brothel

Undercover investigator Daniel Walker recounts how he infiltrated the multi- billion-dollar global sex industry in order to liberate women and children from slavery. In vivid firsthand accounts, Walker traces his steps through a diffuse criminal underground stretching from Southeast Asia to Las Vegas, Nevada.

“This book is a keen reminder that we as Christians have a moral responsibility to speak out and challenge the systems that perpetuate dehumanizing slav- ery and to ensure that captives are set free.”

A Future for the Latino Church

Daniel A. Rodriguez argues that effec- tive Latino ministry and church planting is now centered in second-generation, English-dominant leadership and con- gregations. Based on his observation of cutting-edge Latino churches across the country, Rodriguez reports on how in- novative congregations are ministering to the next generations of Latinos.

“As one of the most prominent Hispanic scholars in the church, Daniel captures both the ob- stacles and opportunities em- bedded within America’s fastest- growing segment of Christianity, Hispanic evangelicals.”

The Theological Turn in Youth Ministry

The questions of young people often bear a striking resemblance to those that perplexed the great theologians. Andrew Root and Kenda Creasy Dean call pastors to take another look at their youth ministries—to see they are full of practical theologians.

Once you’ve begun to see the potential in your students’ natural mix of ideal- ism, cynicism and prophetic intolerance, you can follow their questions into new vistas of theological conversation.

“An important step in the right direction. Who says teenagers can’t understand the theological thrust of, say, Karl Barth? They can and they must.”

Dave Zimmerman
a Tribute to My Heart—Christ’s Home
In 1947, among such earth-altering events as the
partitioning of Palestine to incorporate the modern state
of Israel and the formal establishment of the United
Nations, two relatively inauspicious events took place:
(1) “The board of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in the
U.S.A. determined that the Fellowship should undertake
its own deliberate publishing program, replacing the
somewhat haphazard activities of the preceding years.
That meeting came to be considered the official birth of
IVP in the United States.” (This from the anecdotal history
of InterVarsity Press, Heart. Soul. Mind. Strength.)
Viola played with the idea in his book From Eternity to
Here, and—full disclosure—I riffed on the idea in my new
booklet, The Parable of the Unexpected Guest.
But of all these notable players in the game, Munger
is arguably the MVP. Sixty years after he delivered just
another Sunday evening sermon, people are still reading
it, talking about it, thinking about it, playing with it,
struggling with it, praying about it, living it. Munger’s story
begins simply, with a relatively naive invitation:
(2) “The sermon ‘My Heart—Christ’s Home’ was first
After Christ entered my heart, in the joy of that new-
found relationship, I said to him, “Lord, I want this heart
of mine to be yours. I want you to settle down here and
be fully at home. I want you to use it as your own.”
He was glad to come and seemed delighted to be
given a place in my ordinary little heart.
preached in the fall of 1947
at the First Presbyterian
It ends simply too, although with all the naiveté evicted:
Church of
The evening sermon was not
written out in manuscript form but simply outlined and
preached extemporaneously from notes.” (This from a
1979 edition of Fuller Theological Seminary’s Theology,
News and Notes.)
“Here it is, all that I am and have forever. Now you run
the house. Just let me stay with you as houseboy and
friend.”
He took my life that
A deep peace settled
Like I said, relatively inauspicious. A few years later an
editor at IVP contacted the sermon’s author, Robert Boyd
Munger, asking for permission to publish it in booklet
form. Munger said yes, forgoing such nagging details as
a written contract, and IVP’s most enduring publication
began its now nearly sixty-year run in print.
The beauty of My Heart—Christ’s Home is its simplicity.
The concept comes from a recurring theme in the New
Testament: in Christ God makes his home in our hearts.
Not surprisingly, Munger is not the only person in the
history of the church to associate the idea of a relationship
with God in Christ with the virtue of hospitality. Paintings
of Jesus standing at the door, knocking, were wildly
popular in the nineteenth century, with Holman Hunt’s
being the most famous. George McDonald and C. S.
Lewis both played with the imagery of Jesus making his
home in a person’s heart or soul. Teresa of Avila portrayed
the spiritual life as an “interior castle” that we penetrate
gradually as God forms us in faith. More recently, Frank
down on my soul that has remained. I am his and he is
mine forever!
Simplicity on both sides, with the commensurate
complexity tucked in between. Such is the story of any
story, from “Once upon a time” to “happily ever after.”
Such is also the story of any life, from dust to dust, from
strength to strength. Munger ends his sermon with yet
another invitation, this one to each of us, to make the
story of My Heart—Christ’s Home our own story:
“May Christ settle down and be at home as Lord of
your heart also.”

From The Essential Commandment
“Jesus’ command to love God with all we’ve got
and to treat our neighbor with the same regard
as we do ourselves is meant to bring us to the
end of ourselves. When we hear this expectation
we’re supposed to say, ‘There is no way in the
world that in myself I will ever be able to live up
to this standard.’ That realization causes us to cast
ourselves unreservedly on the grace of God and
repent of our sin-sick soul. Then we are flooded
with the light of God’s accepting grace. Our heart
of stone is massaged back to life as a heart of flesh
that begins to beat within. We find within a new
motivation and desire to want to become all that
God hopes us to be. Because our inner affections
are being transformed to love what God loves, we
begin to understand that his yoke is easy and his
burden is light. The law we hated now becomes the
life we have always wanted.”

The Essential Commandment

In this in-depth handbook, Greg Ogden helps us recover the Great Command- ment for our day-to-day lives. As we learn what it truly means to love God with heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbors, we find that this commandment is not only possible—it is essential.

“Greg Ogden has once again taken the complex subject of Christian discipleship and made it truly understandable and per- sonally applicable. After reading this book, you will wonder why more authors have not made the Great Commandment of Jesus their central focus.”

Sanctuary of the Soul

Richard Foster equips Christians to embark successfully on the journey of meditative prayer. These short instruc- tional chapters, extending wisdom from the classical Christian writers and from Foster’s own experience, provide much- needed bearings for Christian spiritual practice today.

“Richard Foster diagnoses this generation’s major threat to the mature life in Christ as distrac- tion. In response he does again what he does so well: tunnels to the roots of our deep-rooted ancestors and makes us first- hand participants in the church’s practice of a life of meditative prayer.”

From Practicing the Way of Jesus

“During my formative years I spent time with philosopher and theologian Dallas Willard, who often and memorably told us that to experience the kingdom of God ‘a group of people should get together and simply try to do the things that Jesus instructed his disciples to do.’

I use the term ‘community of practice’ here to describe the ancient and enduring historical phenomenon of whole person apprenticeship to Jesus. It is the way that disciples to Jesus have always been made. When Jesus proclaimed the immediacy of God’s kingdom, he asked for a whole person response: ‘Repent and believe the good news’ (Mark 1:15). Eugene Peterson’s dynamic paraphrase highlights this text as a call to action: ‘Time’s up! God’s kingdom is here. Change your life and believe the Message.’ In other words, dream up your whole life again—because there is a new way to be human.”

From an Interview with Ruth Haley Barton

iVP: Why are solitude and silence such essential disciplines?

Ruth: Solitude and silence are the core disciplines of the spiritual life because they are “container” disciplines that create the time and space for other private disciplines. These disciplines are also powerfully concrete ways of giving up control and allowing God to take the initiative in our lives. We move beyond our addiction to words, noise and activity to shore up our identity and allow God to reveal a more authentic self.

The lectionary: giving the narrative of Scripture another Chance

of Jesus. Our sacred text shows us what such formation looks like and the wider story in which it occurs—for instance, that God is main character, not us. This one insight would be enough to completely rearrange the thinking of the “spiritual but not religious” crowd. When I began to give church another chance, one of the most cherished gifts given to me was the weekly

reading of God’s story: Old Testament, a psalm, an epistle and a Gospel. Reading the Bible with the lectionary tells the whole story, the main plot

lines of the Bible. This was a big deal to me. I think it would be to others too if they could experience it. Here’s why: hearing the Bible as the overarching story that was supposed to make sense of the little story of my life broke the power of spirituality that was becoming

too self-referential. Without the Bible all our spiritual work

is about us. With the Bible it becomes about God, about

others—and about us only within that context. The Bible has a special quality to it. It is alive and

powerful. It reads us as much as we read it. It is not merely understandable. It is livable. Approaching the Bible in

a read-to-be-lived manner, we find the source material

missing from so many contemporary spiritualities. We find the only story with the authority, clout and ability to remake our heart, tame our unruly will, heal our misshapen soul, educate our mistaken mind and then place us into our various roles in society as spiritual in the way of Jesus.

Having a sister and brother that are both almost a decade older than me, I’ve been hearing, since the 1960s, about the New Age. Of course I also heard a lot of hand- wringing preaching against it in the 70s and 80s. More recently, I’ve been hearing the related notion that I am spiritual but not religious. I am not angry with these

movements. I am actually glad to see that the spiritual side of humanity still gets some airtime in our culture. These movements, for all their errors when viewed against orthodox

Christianity, have kept alive the notion that a purely secular worldview does not make sense of reality and is not fulfilling. For all the energy and spiritual promise attached to these two sister movements, I think we could all easily recognize that there does not seem to be a tidal wave of goodness, a revival of righteousness or resurgence of morals happening in any sector of human living— including the church. Why might this be the case? I don’t think it’s because the people creating designer religions are insincere. I don’t believe it is because they don’t work at their chosen approach to spirituality. I believe transformation is not happening for one crucial reason: these movements have, for the most part, cut themselves off from the text, the story, the only revelation that has the power to pull into alignment all the various aspects of our lives. Seeking spiritually without the Bible leaves us like a musician without a score, an actor without a plot or lines of dialogue, like an athlete with no lines on the field to confirm what is inbounds or out. The Scriptures are the primary source material for spiritual formation in the way

Wired for Intimacy

Neuroscientist and researcher William Struthers explains how viewing por- nography changes how the male brain works, affecting how we form memories and make attachments. For Struthers, confronting these biological realities is the first step toward a redeemed masculinity in which sexual longing becomes a key factor in the pursuit of embodied holiness.

“The chapter titled ‘Your Brain on Porn’ is one of the best explana- tions of how a person becomes addicted to the neurochemicals involved in love, romance, sexual arousal, and human touch. Wired for Intimacy is a valuable contri- bution to our field.”

“As men fall deeper into the mental habit of fixating on [pornographic] images, the exposure to them

creates neural pathways. Like a path is created in the woods with each successive hiker, so do the neural paths set the course for the next time an erotic image

is viewed. Over time these neural paths become wider

as they are repeatedly traveled with each exposure to pornography. They become the automatic pathway through which interactions with women are routed. The neural circuitry anchors this process solidly in the brain. With each lingering stare, pornography deepens

a Grand Canyon–like gorge in the brain through which images of women are destined to

From Portraits of a Radical Disciple
“What still draws me to John more than anything else
is the aroma of John’s life—a life centered and matured
in the love of Jesus Christ that bears fruit to the glory
of God. John was all the more impressive, not less, the
deeper our relationship
As John preached that day, I stood so far from where
I had been born and raised. I was now working for a
pastor whose vision of the gospel had a cosmic and
global reach, and who showed me in character and
action that to be a disciple of Jesus meant growing
in wisdom and love, in humility and hope. The world
John knew and served was not parochial. The personal
gospel was not a private one, and the particularity of
the gospel was for the sake of its
I have

our common center in Jesus Christ, and the ways our
hearts and minds grew toward our Lord because of our
brother, John.”
—From the chapter by Mark labberton
John r. W. Stott (1921-2011) was a world-renowned preacher,
evangelist and communicator of Scripture. He served as rector of
All Souls Church in London for more than 60 years, carrying out an
effective urban pastoral ministry. Stott was a principal framer of the
Lausanne Covenant and, in 2005, was named one of the “100 Most
Influential People in the World” by Time magazine.
With nearly three dozen human-scale
portraits, this book is a capsule of
memories, both public and private, of
evangelical statesman John R. W. Stott.
In these sketches by his friends, relatives,
coworkers and worldwide partners in the
gospel, we see portions of his life and
personality that many have not. We see
his small acts of kindness such as regu-
larly emptying wastebaskets and taking
hours to find the old, toothless mother
of a priest in India. And we see a poign-
ant portrait of Stott following Christ in
the midst of physical decline.
This volume, edited by christopher J. h.
wright, includes contributions from Michael
Green, Keith and Gladys Hunt, Samuel
Escobar, René Padilla, Ajith Fernando, Peter

From an Interview with Bob Fryling

iVP: Can you explain what you mean by a “leadership ellipse”?

bob: An ellipse is a geometrical figure that is defined by two distinct but interrelated focal points. The leadership ellipse is defined by the two focal points of the leader’s inner life of the soul and the leader’s outer life of leadership. When these two defining elements of a leader’s identity are not well connected there is often great inner personal stress as well as external conflict. When they are working well together they describe a much sought after life of leadership Pursuing this kind of integrity is a long-term and comprehensive endeavor. It necessarily involves spiritual contentment in God, a rejection of that which hinders our growth, a renewed way of thinking and a buoyancy of spirit that energizes us for involvement with others. When we have a dancing heart of inner integrity, we are better able to pursue integrity and involvement in our outer world.

microcosms of our editorial approach, our brand.
Broadly speaking, we publish a spectrum of
evangelical views and set them out there for people to
weigh, debate, reject or accept. We try to be honest
brokers of ideas, and we want the best advocates to
put forth their respective views as
controversy and till the soil of our mental gardens.
They also teach respect and humility. When you listen
to the viewpoints and arguments of those with whom
you disagree, and see them challenged by equally able
discussion partners, it can help you come to respect
your “opponents.” You come to realize that they are not
stupid or ill-informed. No, they have thought through the
issues and come to reasoned conclusions. This is surely
an important dimension of education. And when we see
people of opposing views responding to one another with
civility, respect and even grace, we learn how that is done.
They offer us a model we might emulate. And some of us
need continual reminders of how it is done, particularly in
our present climate of political rancor.
But another thing happens in reading
effectively as they can. As IVP editors
we try not to favor our personal views
in our work. We don’t always succeed,
but you might be surprised how many
times folks think “you guys” (meaning
IVP, and editors in particular) hold to
this or that viewpoint or perspective
(based on something we’ve published),
when in fact no editor does!

multiview books. Our understanding
of an issue, which may have seemed
straightforward, perhaps even black and
white, takes on texture and depth. We
might note problems with our own view
that we had never noticed before, and we
may or may not see compelling answers
to those problems. We are not necessarily
taught what to believe or think but how to
I’ve heard the opinion that
multiview books sometimes confuse
rather than clarify issues and beliefs.
But on the whole I think the criticism takes a short-term
perspective. It’s true that you might come away from
reading a multiview book being most persuaded by the
last view you read. Or perhaps persuaded by the voice
that was rhetorically the most persuasive or the one that
mediated between two alternatives. In other words, you
might end up questioning the view you went in with. In
the short term.
But is that such a bad thing? Maybe it is if you think
that understanding the Bible or any particular issue is
a commodity to be packaged, purchased, held and
defended. But not if you conceive of it as a process of
formation. The reading of a multiview book then becomes
one scene in the unfolding narrative of the shaping of
your thinking or your understanding of Scripture. It is a
process that doesn’t end when you finish and put down
the book. You are entering into the hermeneutical spiral
of understanding Scripture. Multiview books teach the
believe or think. And this can be a good
thing. Especially for know-it-alls.
Most of our multiview books are focused on issues
that most evangelicals would recognize as truly debatable
issues. An exception is our newly released The Historical
Jesus: Five Views, which I blogged on recently, and which
includes views that are clearly beyond the evangelical
pale. But on this topic we think believers and unbelievers
will profit from the discussion of a wider range of
viewpoints.
Finally, as an editor who has taken on several of these
projects in recent years, I always hope a multiview book
does well. The amount of editorial time that goes into
them is often twice that of a single-author book!

Clouds of Witnesses

As the global scale of Christianity comes into view, we are being intro- duced to a great company of saints that has left a lasting imprint on the new Christian heartlands of Africa and Asia. In seventeen narratives that span from the 1880s to the 1980s, Mark Noll and Carolyn Nystrom introduce a diverse group of Christian leaders who demon- strate the vitality of the Christian faith across the globe.

“These seventeen snapshots of global Christian luminaries put a much-needed face on the rise of world Christianity. Each care- fully drawn portrait brims with the insight, eloquence and deep learning which we have come to expect from Mark Noll and Carolyn Nystrom.”

Christianity

Thomas C. Oden reaches back to the earliest days of Christianity to uncover a fertile North African community nearly lost to posterity. From about A.D. 68 till the Muslim conquest of A.D. 643, Libya housed an exciting community whose contributions to Christianity can be traced down to the present day.

Set against this vibrant scene in Libya, we see well-known figures like Tertullian, the great theologian, and Arius, the archheretic, in a new light. Meanwhile little-known figures like martyrs Wasilla and Theodore and the great bishop Synesius of Cyrene find their rightful place in Christian history.

Introducing the Reformation
Commentary on Scripture Series
Galatians, Ephesians
Featuring Latin, German, French, Dutch
and English authors from a variety of
streams within the Protestant move-
ment, this first volume of the Reforma-
tion Commentary on Scripture puts the
contemporary church in touch with the
Reformers as they discover the gospel
of justification by faith in the letters of
Paul.
“The Reformation Commentary
on Scripture series promises
to be an ‘open sesame’ to the
biblical exegesis, exposition and
application of the Bible that was
the hallmark of the Reforma-
tion.”
“The biblical revolution of the sixteenth century
was an explosive event that shook the foundations
of the church and called all Christians ad
fontes—back to the sources! The Reformation
Commentary on Scripture brings many of these
sources, some for the first time, into the hands of
today’s preachers and laity. My prayer is that this
new series will encourage a fresh engagement
with the primary sources of the Christian faith, and
that this will result in the kind of God-centered
Reformation that shook the world of Luther and
Calvin.”

From Paul Through Mediterranean Eyes

“The view presented in this study is that the entire book [of 1 Corinthians] has a carefully designed inner coherence that exhibits amazing precision in composition and admirable grandeur in overall theological concept. When a long list of problems surfaced in Corinth, Paul selected those of general concern and addressed both the Corinthians and the church at large in a single letter. For this extraordinarily well-constructed, important document Paul reached back into his own Jewish past and co-opted rhetorical styles sanctified by the classical writing prophets. Occasionally his mind moved sideways to bring in related topics, and once in a while he added a few ‘notes’ to a homily already available in his mind or among his papers. The result was one of Paul’s finest efforts, and it can indeed be called ‘Paul’s most contemporary epistle.’”

Kenneth e. Bailey is an author and lecturer in Middle Eastern New Testament studies. He spent forty years living and teaching New Testament in Egypt, Lebanon, Jerusalem and Cyprus. Bailey has written many books in English and Arabic, including The Cross and the Prodigal, Jacob and the Prodigal and Jesus Through Middle Eastern Eyes.

Paul Through Mediterranean Eyes

In this groundbreaking study of Paul’s first epistle to the Corinthians, Kenneth Bailey examines this canonical letter through Paul’s Jewish sociocultural and rhetorical background and through the Mediterranean context of its Corinthian recipients. Uncovering the letter’s roots in the Hebrew prophetic tradition, its intentional theological organization and its rhetorical reference to Near Eastern cultural practices, Bailey allows us to see the full scope of Paul’s response to a community in crisis.

“Christian faith—biblical faith—is not a matter of putting a brave face on things and trying our best. It is a matter of looking away from ourself and seeing the world as God sees it, as it really Creation is saying ‘Amen.’ The church bows down and worships. These are the facts. The question of faith is whether we stop eavesdropping and join in the song.”

He previously taught at Cambridge, McGill and Oxford. Wright’s full-scale works, The New Testament and the People of God, Jesus and the Victory of God and The Resurrection of the Son of God, are part of a projected six-volume series titled Christian Origins and the Question of God. The Bible Study that Created IVP as she taught at InterVarsity summer camps and conferences.

The Bible Study that Created IVP

as she taught at InterVarsity summer camps and conferences. She had a vibrant, open, winning personality and was an outstanding teacher. She developed effective ways of teaching the inductive Bible study methods to students in forms that the students could understand and apply to their own quiet times and Bible study preparation. She made good use of the Revised Standard Version of the Bible, which was published in 1946, and was easier to understand and study than the venerable King James Version. Hollingsworth directly influenced the two people who developed and implemented InterVarsity-wide training in inductive Bible study, Barbara Boyd with Bible & Life and Paul Byer with manuscript study. She also wrote the first Bible study guides for InterVarsity Press and helped make IVP a strong Bible study guide publisher. With so many InterVarsity chapters in the 1940s, the handful of staff could make visits only once

every few weeks or months. Thus literature that was left behind became substitute staff for

many students, mentoring them in prayer, Bible study, missions, evangelism and leadership. Woods wanted InterVarsity to be a Bible movement, and Hollingsworth

brought the practical skills needed to make this a reality. After traveling extensively, visiting students on many campuses, Jane told her boss, “The students want to study the Bible, Stacey, but they don’t know how. They need some materials.” “Well, Jane, write some!” replied Stacey with his usual bluntness. And so she did. It wasn’t long before IVP published its first inductive Bible study guide in 1943: Discovering the Gospel of Mark by Jane Hollingsworth. From the very beginning, three emphases came together in IVP’s first homegrown publication: the value of books written by IVCF staff, the importance of Bible study, and the equal worth of books written by men and women—emphases that would sound again and again in the decades to come. Hollingsworth’s book would be followed in the years ahead by other bestselling works from IVCF staff such as Paul Little, Rebecca Manley Pippert, Will Metzger, Robbie Castleman and Don Everts.

Jane Hollingsworth grew up in Augusta, Georgia and attended Wheaton College. After graduating from Wheaton she entered The Biblical Seminary in New York where she was imbued with the principles of inductive Bible study. As millions of men went to war in Europe and Asia in the early 1940s, many jobs were filled by

women, including in the ranks of IVCF campus staff. Stacey Woods recruited Jane Hollingsworth in 1942.

Hollingsworth served with distinction as a staff person in the Northwest, the Midwest, and then in New York City. While on

staff in New York she successfully fought, at great personal expense, to keep the InterVarsity chapters integrated and make sure black students had equal access to InterVarsity meetings, camps, conferences and training experiences. Her greatest contribution to InterVarsity was to implant in the fellowship the principles and practice

of inductive Bible study that she had learned at The Biblical Seminary in New York. From the time she came on staff in 1942, Hollingsworth influenced all of the Bible study groups in InterVarsity around the country to adopt the inductive approach. She stressed studying large sections of Scripture as an alternative to dispensational/fundamentalist “versification” that was still prevalent in American evangelicalism at the time. The American InterVarsity movement has been known for inductive Bible study ever since. Hollingsworth influenced InterVarsity toward inductive Bible study in a number of ways. She stressed inductive Bible study training in her own extensive ministry of teaching and training staff and students, not only in the immediate geographic areas in which she worked but also nationally

Sally Sampson Craft
an eBook update, again
Many of you loyal IVP readers have been waiting
very patiently for us to make more eBooks available
at more resellers—especially at Barnes & Noble for
the Nook. Here is what’s been happening since our
last eBook update in June:
Here is a list of titles you can now buy in ePub
format:
beTween allah & Jesus Peter Kreeft
disciPleshiP essenTials Greg Ogden
The GiFT oF beinG youRselF David G. Benner
We have released most of the titles that we had
converted by Aptara and eBook Architects early
this summer, but for a few of them we decided to
first fix some things that we thought you would
find problematic like we did—the main thing being
charts and graphs that were treated as images
by the external conversion companies and that
therefore couldn’t be resized to be more readable
on small ereader screens. As we pored over these
first eBook files, dug deeper into our own book
production process, and dreamed about what we’d
really like an eBook experience to be and how we
could produce them with greater speed, quality and
cost effectiveness (we are a part of a not-for-profit
organization, after all), we came to the conclusion
that we could, and should, (1) set up a way to
convert our made-for-print files on our own and (2)
start changing our whole editorial and typesetting/
layout process so that we can simultaneously
produce both ready-to-print or ready-to-sell-as-
ebook files in the not-too-distant future.
So that’s what we’ve been doing all summer!
Now the first of our converted-by-IVP-staff titles
have also been released! And along the way we’ve
signed up with several more resellers!
Once new ePub files are approved by each
reseller, you’ll find them at Barnes & Noble,
Christian Book Distributors, eChristian, Google,
Kobo and Sony. To fi nd them most easily, visit
ivpress.com, search by title, look for the “IVP Extra”
section following our title description, and use the
links there to click through to the title purchasing
page from each active reseller.

Finally, we have collected several requests already
for our forthcoming eBooks email newsletter, and
we’ll soon have a sign-up link at Ye Olde eBook

the way.
