Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN)


Impact The resilience and capacity of a growing number of developing country/Asian cities in relation to current and future climate risks is enhanced, and through this work the lives of poor and vulnerable men and women are improved. Outcomes 1. Capacity of Cities to plan, finance, coordinate and implement climate change resilience strategies 2. Network for Knowledge, Learning and Engagement 3. Expansion, deepening of experience, scaling up

$59 mn initiative running till 2014 10 cities in four Asian countries Emphasis on 2nd tier cities

Need identified at urban climate change resilience meeting in Bellagio, Italy, November 2010 5-year proposed partnership: DFID, Rockefeller, ADB and others Initially target 35-40, secondary cities in Asia

Addressing demand and supply through a blend of grant, debt and private investment
Four core objectives: Capacity building, policy change, increased investment, knowledge generation
