Industrial Design Intern LPK International, Inc., Northbrook, IL, 2011 (May-October) Participated in concept generation for home furniture, from research to sketching to CAD, for various manufacturers. Examined consumer needs and trends to produce market driven research. Worked around demanding constraints of designing for speci c price points. Industrial Design Intern Beyond Design, Inc., Chicago, IL, 2010 (May-August) Aided in concept generation for the consultancy, from sketching to CAD, for several projects for a variety of major clients. Organized and participated in focus groups and brainstorming sessions. Assembled expert interviews into multimedia presentations to develop user research.

UIC Industrial Design Mentor, UIC, 2011-present I was asked to join the UIC industrial design mentor program due to my continued desire to educate. I meet with students on campus and assist them with their portfolios including the portfolio content, layout and the design process more generally. I am the only mentor who is not an alumnus of UIC. Solar Decathlon Team member, UIUC, 2010-2011 Designed and constructed a solar powered home for disaster relief sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. Applied industrial design skills to concentrate on interior space and its user interaction. Worked in conjunction with the School of Architecture and College of Engineering. International E-Waste Design Competition 2nd place winner, team member, UIUC, 2010 Salvaged and refurbished electronic waste to create a sustainable product with a reinvented user experience. Developed a vessel for the growth of algae to be later manufactured into biodiesel. Collaborated with other disciplines to utilize research and available materials. Mali Water Project Project member, UIUC, 2010 Developed a sustainable method for water supply and management for a remote village in Mali, western Africa. Utilized user research and regional analysis with College of Engineering to implement a clean and accessible water system.
