Introduction The term electrical wiring refers to installation of electrical wires or the act or process of the installation of a system

of electrical wires, or a system of electrical wires or a network of electrical wires. The terms cabling, electrics, electric wiring, and electrical systems also refer to the same term. Electrical wiring may also be referred to as insulated conductors used to carry electricity, and associated devices. Car wiring, home wiring, telephone wiring, trailer wiring, thermostat wiring, house wiring, structured wiring, and basic wiring are terms widely used when referring to the subject of electrical wiring. Electrical wiring accessories include cable accessories, conductors, panel wiring, wiring harnesses, wiring block kits, brass electrical wiring accessories, etc., both ferrous & non-ferrous. There are certain wiring safety codes prescribed with the intention to protect life and secure property from damage done while using electricity. Depending on the region of location, these regulations are made by local city, provincial or state or national legislation, and amended to model codes prescribed by the respective region's, country's, state's, or city's technical standards setting organizations, or national standards electrical codes.

Objectives 1. To identify the process of electrical wiring installation for the single storey house as given in the laboratory 2. To review and discuss all the process of electrical wiring installation for the single storey house 3. To prepare the schematic diagram for the electrical wiring installation

Apparatus 1. Electrical wiring sample board 2. Camera

Procedures 1. All students were instructed by Mr Isha and Mr Hanafi. 2. Electrical wiring sample board is shown and explained to the student by Mr Isha and Mr Hanafi. 3. Students were shown how to differentiate electrical device such as Distribution Board, MCCB, MCB and ELCB. 4. Camera is used to take the picture of electrical wiring sample board and put inside the laboratory report. 5. Electrical devices accessories that suitable to electrical wiring installation is shown to the student and proper way to do the wiring installation also shown to the students. 6. Students were asked to sketch schematic diagram of electrical wiring installation.

Literature review Distribution board It is a element of an electricity supply system which separate an electrical power feed into ancillary circuits, while providing a shielding fuse or circuit breaker for each circuit, in a common enclosure. Usually, distribution board consists of a main switch, bus bars, and possible switches, fuse links and Automatic protective equipment, bypass equipment, for connecting, controlling and protecting a number of branch circuits fed from one main circuit of a wiring installation in a building or premises for easy and safe handling of incoming power supply. A distribution board may be used to distribute either single or three phase supplies depending on the installation specifics. Distribution boards are common place in most industrial installations and commercial or residential buildings. MCCB (molded case circuit breaker) It is an electrical device used in an electrical panel that monitors and controls the amount of amperes being sent through the electrical wiring. A molded case circuit breaker automatically interrupts the current flowing through it when the current exceeds the trip rating of the breaker. Molded case refers to the use of molded plastic as the medium of electrical insulation for enclosing the mechanisms, and for separating conducting surfaces from one another and from grounded (earthed) metal parts. Molded case circuit breakers usually contain thermal-magnetic trip units, although larger sizes can be equipped with solid state trip sensors. If a power surge occurs in the electrical wiring, the breaker will trip. This means that a breaker that was in the "on" position will flip to the "off" position and shut down the electrical power leading from that breaker. Essentially, a circuit breaker is a safety device. When a circuit breaker is tripped, it may prevent a fire from starting on an overloaded circuit; it can also prevent the destruction of the device that is drawing the electricity. ELCB (earth leaking circuit breaker) It is a ground fault protection device installed in distribution board primarily to protect against electric shock. It is basically a conventional circuit breaker equipped with a sensing coil and interlock or latching mechanism. The coil is connected to the installation ground network, thereby providing a return path to it for any fault induced voltages. Any fault voltage returning to the coil will energize it, activate the latching mechanism, and trip or switch off the circuit breaker. Short circuits in unprotected domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical installations are a major cause of electrocution, fire, and equipment damage. The installation of an earth leakage circuit breaker and a comprehensive grounding or earth circuit in the installation may prevent the resultant damage or loss of life. This protection is achieved by providing a line of emergency isolation communication between the supply and consumer points in a circuit via an earthing system.

MCB (miniature circuit breaker) A modern alternative to fuses used in Consumer Units (Fuse Boxes). They have the benefit that if they trip, they can be reset and they offer a more precise tripping value. It consists of resettable fuse that will protect a circuit from currents that are too high. It works by winding the live wire around a piece of iron. This makes an electromagnet. The bigger the current in the live the stronger the electromagnet. The electromagnet is positioned so that it pulls against a switch that can break the circuit. The switch is held closed by a spring. It's designed so that when the current is bigger than some preset value, say 20 amps, the switch is pulled open and the circuit is broken.
