I sure wish I lived closer to my family, Im so excited! Lets see I forgot to mention Tom turned 63 on July 20th and we celebrated our anniversary the same day. I turned 63 on August 23rd,, the day the east cost had a lot of shaking going on with the earthquake, weathered Hurricane Irene and no flodding when the storm came that brought so much rain! I say Praise the Lord!

We were able to take a vacation this year, first one in four years. I had a great time resting and relaxation. We are praising the Lord that we didnt get sandwiched between two tractor trailers. It was fast and slow motion at the same time in the middle of the trucks and no where to go. I shout praise the Lord for his divine protection because I might not me typing this newsletter. Give the Lord a Big Shout Out of Praise! I will see my hand surgeon in November for a follow-up visit and the left hand surgery will be scheduled then. I can do pretty much all I was doing before surgery. I have some aching in my wrist but I am healing daily by Jesus. I was pondering the other day about my right hand and the scars that I have, which reminded me of the nail scarred hands of Jesus. Jesus endured so much on the cross that our finite mind cannot comprehend what HE did for us on the cross. He exemplifies what true endurance really stands for, we are total whimps when it comes to pain, anguish and suffering. I am so thankful that He paid for my Sins and HEALING on the Cross. Everything was nailed there when He said, It is finished! I cant wait to see Him face to face!

Dying in Prison without Jesus!

One of my cousins is a Chaplain for prison hospice in another state. Here is an account of a sad story He wrote it to me. He does a part of prison ministry that I know I couldnt do. He writes I too see the hand of God healing in our prison hospice. Most of the men who receive a healing are very grateful to the Lord and we rejoice with them. However, there are also those who do not receive the gracious healing with gratefulness. There is that interesting story of Jesus healing 10 lepers in Luke 17:14 and following. You may remember that only one of them returned to thank Jesus. One out of ten was and is not a very good return. A man in our hospice died this past week whose name was Gary. This was his 5th admission into the hospice over a 5 year period of time. God healed him each time he came to the hospice. It was remarkable to watch God work in the life of this very ungrateful man. God even healed him from liver cancer! The Oncologist told him and our team that he was in complete remission. No cancer could be found. I told Gary that it was obvious to all that God was at work in his life and that he needed to repent and turn to God. Gary was discharged to the main line where he continued to live a very self-centered way of life. He saw his fellow inmates and his family as tools to use in order to gratify his immediate needs. He was extremely manipulative. Gary was incarcerated for child molestation. I suppose this mentality goes with the crime. Gary returned after two years on the main line with another totally different cancer. This time the cancer was very, very aggressive. He died this past week angry and bitter that his life had not gone the way he wanted it to go. I prayed with him prior to his passing and reminded him of our gracious and forgiving Lord. I continued to share the Gospel with him. He demonstrated only self-centered bitterness. He died with one of our inmate Pastoral Care Workers by his side. God was gracious in that he died comfortably in his sleep. My heart hurts and grieves for Gary and his two children incarcerated in Oregon. I fear the sins of the father have been passed along to the children. I pray that all who are touched by our gracious Lord respond in gratitude and yield their lives to the only one who can bring them from death to life. I also pray that I would be ever grateful to our Lord from whom all blessings flow.

Going past the prison walls to take the Love of Jesus.

DONT LET FEAR STEAL YOUR DREAMS 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. The Bible says that in the last days, mens heart would fail them because of fear. The root cause of discouragement is fear. The spirit of fear takes away your courage. The spirit of fear believes nothing will work out. Fear is a powerful spiritual force. Fear will cause people to walk in failure all of their lives. Fear will stop the blessings of God. Fear opens the door to the enemy. The thing you must remember is that fear is the enemy of faith. God commanded that His people walk by faith and not by sight. Fear will come in and steal your dreams. Remember this, without faith it is impossible to please God. But with fear it is possible to please the enemy. When you see discouragement coming into your life, you must recognize its fear trying to come in. When fear comes against your mind, it causes you to be unstable in all your ways. Fear causes you to make wrong decisions. Fear causes you to be discouraged. Fear will cause you to quit too soon. Anytime fear rules someones life, it will steal their dreams. Remember that FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real. Theres a difference between evidence and truth. The evidence may say that you cant pay your bills, but the truth says, My God shall meet all my needs. Philippians 4:19 Anytime the Lord speaks to you, the enemy will challenge that word with fear. Job said, The thing I feared the most has come upon me. He confessed his fears until the enemy came in and stole everything he had. If you open the door to fear in your life, you wont see your dreams come to pass. You know the story of the parable of talents. The one, who was afraid of losing his money, lost everything he had. Fear is trying to stop your dreams from coming to pass. When discouragement comes against your mind say God is my refuge and my strength, He is an ever present help in time of trouble, therefore I will not fear. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. Psalm 46:1, Isaiah 54:17 The Word from the Lord, Fear not, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name, and you are Mine. When you pass through the waters I will be with you. When you walk through the fire you will not be burned. Isaiah 43:1-2 Put your HOPE in God! I love Toms message, it reminded me of the day we had the earthquake and people we ran into were fearful for their life. I talked to several people that day telling them they had nothing to fear if Jesus was their personal Lord and Savior and if they didnt know him now was the time to turn their life over to HIM! I dont know if they did or didnt for its their choice.

"We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us."

1 Thessalonians 2:8

Job 3:25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

Michael Byrd continued Healing of the Mind For many many years I left God and got caught up in the street life; an alcoholic, drugs and crime. It says in Hebrews 13:5 I will never leave you or forsake you God got a hold of my life back in 2002 and my life has never been the same. That is really when I realized He started healing and renewing my mind. My body may be in prison today but my mind and heart had been set free today and I give Him all the honor and praise. Amen!
