Watts Under Floor Plates are a heavy duty, extruded aluminum plate designed for use with 1/2" (12.7 mm) Heating PEX and 1/2" (12.7 mm) Heating PEX-AL-PEX tubing under subfloors.

Specifications
Under Floor Plates are an extruded aluminum with pre-drilled holes measuring 3-1/2" x 48" (88.9 mm X 1.2 m) long. Tubing snaps into a fixed channel, making installation fast and easy. No silicone adhesive is required. The channels tight grip improves heat transfer and eliminates annoying ticks and clicks as the tubing expands and contracts.

Installation Parameters
1.  Measure the joist bay and determine the number and length of each Under Floor Plate required. Estimate the lineal feet of Under Floor Plates required as 1.4' (426.7 mm) of plate per square foot (square meter) of heated floor. Note: If a plate needs to be cut, use a carbide tipped aluminum cutting blade and deburr the tube channel. 2.  Attach the Under Floor Plates to the subfloor with the use of #83/4" (19.1 mm) selftapping screws placed 1218" (304.8 mm - 457.2 mm) apart along the plate. A coil roofing nail gun (3/4" (19.1 mm) nails) or a pneumatic staple gun 1" x 3/4" (25.4 mm x 19.1 mm) 16 gauge staples may also be used. 3.  Under Floor Plates should be spaced 8" (203.2 mm) OC. Wider spacing is not recommended. Allow a minimum of 1" (25.4 mm) space between the ends of the plates. Stop the plates 812" (203.2 mm - 304.8 mm) from the end of the joist bay to allow the tubing to transition to the next run of plates.
