Papatya Yayincilik Egitim A.S. (Daisy Publication and Education Publishing Inc.) was founded by five friends including two academics (Dr. R. Colkesen and Dr. O. Aliefendioglu) to make publishing in scientific, academic and technical subjects at university level in 1999. So far, it published about 250 books, most of which have academic and scientific characteristics, under the brands of Papatya Yayincilik (Daisy Publishing), Toroslu Kitapligi (Toroslu Library) and drtkardes (FourBros). It is one of Turkey's leading publishing houses in the field of computer engineering, information technology, basic sciences, and economics. Our publishing house also focuses on education; accordingly it is also working on the magazine publishing, and educational services. All its books are peer-reviewed. Rifat LKESEN (Ph.D., Computer Engineering) Being a founding department head of Computer Engineering Department of Beykent University in Istanbul, he worked as a faculty member (2000-2011). Education: Electronics and Communications Engineer (KTU), Computer Engineer (ITU), completed his doctorate studies in Istanbul Technical University, ICTP Microprocessor Lab. (Trieste-Italy) and Cukurova University. Professional life: During his master and doctorate education/studies, he gave lectures on computer programming in the education section of ITU Foundation and worked as research and project manager in the computer industry for four years. During this period, he designed many projects of high added value in Computer Networks and Internet Technologies; algorithms and computer networks are his main field of study. He also works for a publishing house that publishes academic books as an editorial consultant and chairman of the referee board. Publications: He wrote several books on Computer Engineering and other subjects on which he studied/made researches: Computer Communications and Network Technologies (with Bulent rencik), Here's C Programming Language, Data Structures and Algorithms, The Art of Programming and Algorithms and Logic Circuit Design for Computer and Electronic Engineering (with Taner Arsan) are his well-known books. He wrote about 10 books in total and has over 30 national and international publications. Other: He is also editor of 5 books and the chief editor of Information Encyclopedia of Turkey. -----------------------Osman ALEFENDOLU (Ph.D., Electronics Engineering) Education: Electronics and Communications Engineer (ITU, 1989), Computer Engineer (ITU, 1992), completed his doctorate studies at the University of Braunschweig (2001, Germany). Professional life: During his graduate courses he gave lectures on computer programming in the education section of ITU Foundation and worked as sales director for ten years. He works for Papatya Yayincilik Egitim, a publishing house that publishes academic books, as an editorial consultant and editor. Publications: He has over 20 national and international publications. Other: He is also editor of 4 books. -----------------------Suat KOYUNCU (M.Sc., Aeronautical Engineering) Education: Aeronautical Engineer B.Sc. (Istanbul Technical University, 1983-1989), Aeronautical Engineer M.Sc. (Istanbul Technical University, 1989-1994), Business Informatics (Halic University, 2008 - ongoing), Law (Istanbul University, 2011 - ongoing). Professional life: During his graduate courses (1990-1994) he worked as a research assistant at Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Aeronautics and Space Science. Later, he chose the information publishing as a profession, and worked for BYTE Turkey computer magazine (Editor in Chief, 19951997), Sistem Yayincilik (Computer Books Series Editor in Chief, 1998-2003), Medyasoft Yayinlari (Executive Editor, 2003-2005) and ALFA Yayinlari (General Coordinator, 2008-2011) respectively. Between 1995-2011, he published about 400 books by working as an editor. 250 of them were computer books. Among them, there were about 120 computer books from Pearson (New Riders, SAMS, QUE, Prentice Hall, Addison Wesley, Adobe Press, Macromedia Press, etc.), McGraw-Hill and Wiley. These books were translated into Turkish and published in Turkey under different brands. He also works on synchronous e-learning and electronic publishing in his own company. He works as editor in chief for Papatya Yayincilik Egitim, a publishing house that publishes academic books.
