WHAT ARE THE SIDE-EFFECTS OF HPV VACCINE?

HPV vaccination has been proven to be safe. The commonest side-effects are pain and swelling at the site of injection, which usually subside after a few days. Please see a doctor at the nearest health centre if you develop any problems or side-effects following the vaccination.

IS THERE ANY SITUATION WHERE I WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAVE THE HPV VACCINATION?
You will not be given the vaccination if: You have had severe side-effects after receiving the first or second vaccination. You have been hospitalised for a severe allergic reaction after any vaccination. You are pregnant.

WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT?


You must give the HPV vaccination consent form to your parent/guardian. You must make sure your parents have signed the consent form before you receive the vaccination. You must ensure that you have completed the three HPV vaccinations according to the schedule.

WHAT IS CERVICAL CANCER?


It is a cancer that affects the cervix (neck of the womb). It is the second most common female cancer in Brunei Darussalam after breast cancer.

Three vaccinations will be given in the upper arm over a 6-months period, as shown below:

WHERE CAN I GET THE HPV VACCINATION?


If you are a student, the vaccination will be given in your school. If you are no longer in school, the vaccination can be obtained from: Vaccination Centre, 4th Floor, Ong Sum Ping Condominium (for Brunei-Muara District) District Health Office (for the other districts)

WHY MUST I GET THE HPV VACCINATION?


HPV vaccination will protect you from being infected with the virus, which may cause cervical cancer in the future. Prevention of HPV infection is more effective when the vaccine is given to teenage girls before they become sexually active. The Ministry of Health is giving the HPV vaccine free of charge to teenage girls (citizens and permanent residents) in Year 7 (ages 11 to 13 years). From 2012 to 2015, HPV vaccine will be given free of charge through a catch-up program for teenage girls (citizens and permanent residents) in Year 11.

HPV stands for Human Papilloma Virus. It is the most common cause of cervical cancer.

The HPV vaccination will be given by a qualified and trained health personnel.

Dayang pernah mengalami kesan sampingan yang teruk setelah menerima vaksinasi HPV pertama atau kedua. Dayang pernah mengalami alahan teruk yang memerlukan rawatan di hospital selepas apa jua vaksinasi. Dayang sedang hamil.

TALIAN HEALTHLINE
Pastikan borang kebenaran vaksinasi HPV telah diberikan kepada ibubapa atau penjaga dengan segera. Dapatkan persetujuan bertulis daripada ibubapa atau penjaga untuk melayakkan dayang menerima vaksinasi ini. Pastikan dayang telah melengkapkan ketigatiga vaksinasi HPV mengikut tarikh temujanji yang telah ditetapkan.

CEGAH KANSER SERVIK MELALUI VAKSINASI HPV

TIGA VAKSINASI BARU LENGKAP

Vaksinasi diberikan di lengan sebanyak 3 kali dalam tempoh 6 bulan mengikut jadual berikut:

Bagi yang tidak bersekolah, vaksinasi ini boleh diperolehi dari: Pusat Vaksinasi, Tingkat 4, Bangunan Kondominium Ong Sum Ping (bagi Daerah Brunei-Muara) Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah (bagi daerah-daerah lain)

Kanser yang terjadi pada bahagian servik (pangkal rahim). Kanser wanita yang kedua paling lumrah di Negara Brunei Darussalam selepas kanser payudara.
Vaksinasi Pertama Tarikh vaksinasi pertama diberikan di sekolah/ pusat vaksinasi Vaksinasi Kedua Vaksinasi Ketiga 1 bulan selepas vaksinasi pertama 6 bulan selepas vaksinasi pertama

Sistem Reproduktif Wanita

Vaksinasi HPV ini akan dapat melindungi dayang dari jangkitan HPV yang boleh menyebabkan kanser servik dimasa akan datang. Pencegahan jangkitan HPV paling berkesan jika diberikan kepada remaja perempuan seawal yang mungkin sebelum mereka mula melakukan hubungan kelamin. HPV bermaksud Human Papilloma Virus. Jangkitan HPV adalah punca utama kanser servik. Kementerian Kesihatan memberikan vaksin HPV secara percuma bagi remaja perempuan (rakyat dan penduduk tetap) yang sedang menuntut dalam Tahun 7 (berusia 11 hingga 13 tahun). Bagi tahun pengajian 2012 hingga 2015, vaksin HPV akan diberikan secara percuma melalui program catch up kepada remaja perempuan (rakyat dan penduduk tetap) yang sedang menuntut dalam Tahun 11.

Vaksinasi akan diberikan oleh pekerja Kementerian Kesihatan yang bertauliah dan terlatih.

Human Papilloma Virus Vaksinasi HPV ini telah dibuktikan selamat. Bagi yang bersekolah vaksinasi ini akan diberikan di sekolah masing-masing. Kesan sampingan yang paling lumrah ialah bengkak dan sakit pada tempat suntikan yang mana akan sembuh dalam beberapa hari. Berjumpalah dengan doktor di pusat kesihatan yang berhampiran sekiranya dayang mengalami sebarang masalah selepas menerima vaksinasi ini.

Vaksinasi HPV diberikan secara suntikan bagi mencegah jangkitan HPV yang boleh menyebabkan kanser servik dimasa akan datang.
