Awareness of the crime of human trafficking is one of the ways to eradicate slavery especially in the Philippines. The awareness makes changes, like it promotes the public consciousness through local community action and sharing of resources and programs among communities and organizations. It helps in eradicating the crime especially when we students are aware of the crime and we understand how traffickers lure people into modern-day slavery. It motivates and opens the eyes of us students to become interested in learning about human trafficking in the Philippines and how it adversely affects our community. It reiterates the value of volunteerism and how the youth can create a positive change in the society. It also helps us to advance our newfound awareness and knowledge to other people that we know. Human trafficking is modern day slavery. It is a clear abuse of human rights. It involves women, men and children and can result in labor exploitation and prostitution. In the Philippines it is clear that there is the presence of sexual exploitation, it usually happens when a person participates in prostitution the cause

of this is that poverty. For common people sex trafficking is nothing new in the Philippines its like people are immune to this kind of issue, because its been a long time since it was present in the Philippines when we usually see a women and children were traded in marketplace, they mostly end up as sex slave to their masters. Most victims of this are the women, single mothers, women who have experienced sexual abuse and exploitation, those women who has been in unsuccessful marriages or in abusive relationship lastly the children. It usually happen to people from poor families in rural or urban areas with little education and limited skills and knowledge. As a college student there are things that I can do to eradicate the issue regarding human trafficking. One of this is that I should be informed and be involved in things. Pray for those people who are involved in human trafficking. Share the things that I know to other people regarding this issue. I can use my social networks like facebook, twitter in updating my status in mentioning human trafficking at least once a week or I can create a blog discussing things about human trafficking. I as a legal management student should practice the law and share my knowledge to other people regarding what in the law for them not to be ignorant in whats going on in the society. I can write letters to lawmakers to dont prosecute the prostitutes but track down the people behind it. Make the force stronger in order for those people to feel safe and trust the government in solving their problem.
