Furuba) is a Shojo manga series written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya. It was serialized in the semi monthly Japanese magazine Hana to Yuma, published by Hakusensha, from 99 to y2k6. The series was also adapted into a 26 episode anime series directed by Akitaro Daichi. The series tells of a story of Tohru Honda, a ditsy orphan girl who, after meeting Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Sohma, learns that those three and fellow 10 members of the Sohma family are possessed by the thirteen animal signs of the Junishi, the Chinese zodiac. By this unique possession of course, comes with a curse. These thirteen members, when touched by the opposite sex, change into their animal forms that represent their zodiac sign. Other ways that they change are when they are weak, sick, or distressed. By the request of the Sohma family, Tohru had to promise to keep their family secret a secret in exchange to live with them due to the fact that tohru was homeless as well as being an orphan. If you are wondering about the title of this series, I will give you a brief hint. The title of this series, Fruit basket, is also a name for a type a game that Japanese Elementary school kids play in recess. The game is also alluded to within the series. If you wanna Willden 1

Now on to Death Note or Desu Noto, is a manga series created by tsugumi Ohba and its artist is Takeshi Obata. Death Note was first serialized in 108 chapters by Shueisha in the Japanese manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from December of 03 and to May 06. Starting in may of 04 to October of 06 with a total of 12 volumes, it was published in the Tankoban format. This series was adapted into an anime series and a trilogy of live action films. The films were released in Japan on June 17 of 06, November 3 of 06 and February 2 of 08. The anime aired in Japan on October 3 of 06 to June 26 of 07. Comprised of 37 episodes, it was developed by Madhouse and directed by Tetsuro Araki. Also, Nisio Isin also written a light novel based on the series and was released in Japan. Death Note was imported to North America on a limited basis. The Story follows the main character who is a high school student named Light Yagami. He discovers a supernatural notebook called Death Note, which was accidentally dropped on earth by a Shinigami, named Ryuk. A Shinigami is a god of death. The death note grants it user the ability to kill anyone whose name and face they know. This series follows Lights attempt to create and rule a world by cleansing it of all evil as if he was god when he uses the Death Note. Light goes against the efforts of a detective known as L who is trying to stop him. I give this series a solid 9.9 out of 10. Next up is the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. This series was written by Nagaru Tanigawa and illustrated by Noizi Ito and was adapted to into other media. This series follows
