Romantic Rufes are the result of this quick and easy pattern. This bag can be dressy or casual, making it a wonderful addition to your wardrobe or a great gift for someone special. It works up beautifully with some novelty yarn too, for a little extra shine!

CO 80 stitches, PM and join, being careful not to twist. Knit, slipping marker each time, for one ball of yarn (Measures approximately 12-1/2). Add second ball. Knit one row. Purl one row. Knit one row. Purl one row (three rows garter stitch). Rufe: (For some added are, add novelty yarn here and knit with the two together.) Knit front and back of every stitch. Knit one row even. Next Row: *K1, f/b, K1* Repeat all stitches. Knit three rows even. BO all stitches. Bottom: Turn bag inside out. Starting at CO tail, pick up 35 stitches. Knit every row (garter stitch) for 10 rows, ve ridges. Cut yarn leaving 8 tail. Going back to CO tail, skip ve stitches. Using 13 Straight Needle and starting in sixth stitch, pick up 35 sts. Then BO 35 stitches together using Three Needle BO. Cut yarn and sew up sides. Strap: Using size 11 needles, CO four sts and knit a 70 cord. Felt pieces: After washing, pack bag with plastic bags to ll and form shape. Let dry, keeping out of direct sunlight. Finishing: When all pieces are dry, measure 2-1/2 from sides of bag. Carefully make 1/4 vertical slit in bag at garter stitch area just under rufe. Take strap, trim tails from felting, fold in half and cut. Thread one end through slit and then knot. Repeat with other three ends in other three slits. Tah Dah! Youve got yourself a beautiful bag! Pattern Abbreviations: f/b Knit into the front and back of the stitch
