TinCaps C.A.R.E.
Within the past two seasons, the Fort Wayne TinCaps have unveiled a community initiative. The TinCaps C.A.R.E. program stands for Community, Activity, Recreation and Education. The mission of TinCaps C.A.R.E. is to give back to the citizens of Northeast Indiana through outreach, charitable & community programs and events, fundraising, and partnerships with local and regional charitable organizations. community outreach Through our community outreach efforts and partnerships, the TinCaps have given those less fortunate in our community the opportunity to experience TinCaps games and other events at Parkview Field. The TinCaps mascot Johnny and our players make appearances at local hospitals, schools, little leagues and community partners. The TinCaps worked with nearly 30 organizations in 2011. charitable and community programs The TinCaps engage in various charitable programs, the largest and most notable of which is the TinCaps Reading Program. In 2011 these events included Hitting for Hunger, a PINK game to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research, Healthy Kids Day in partnership with the YMCA, and free holiday events among many others. Fundraising The TinCaps have assisted dozens of local organizations with fundraising efforts. In addition to donations to charitable groups and partnerships on fundraising auctions, the TinCaps Gameday Fundraising Program allows organizations to sell TinCaps tickets and retain a percentage of the profits. The TinCaps Fundraising Program assisted over 30 local groups in reaching their goals in 2011. partnerships with community organizations The TinCaps partnered with over 50 community, local, and regional organizations in 2011 through the Community Organization of the Game, which showcases a single organization during a TinCaps game. Partner organizations are able to put their message and mission in front of thousands of TinCaps fans via a kiosk display, video board features, and public address announcements.
The TinCaps continue to strive to give back to the community in which we all live.

Building on Success
The organization followed up a record-breaking 2010 season at Parkview Field with another remarkable 2011 season. The TinCaps have sustained a three-year attendance average that, nationally, is on par with or above Triple-A franchises in much larger markets such as Nashville, Oklahoma City, and New Orleans. With an average of over 475,000 attendees over the past three seasons, Parkview Field has become a vital and vibrant part of the Fort Wayne community and one of the most successful venues in all of Minor League Baseball. The TinCaps are looking to reach even greater heights in the upcoming years. Beyond the scheduled TinCaps games and the growing slate of Special Events, we are constantly looking for additional events to further energize our devoted fan base. This includes concerts from national touring artists, Division-1 athletic games and tournaments, and conventions that would not have considered Fort Wayne prior to Harrison Square.

For many, minor league baseball games conjure up images of rundown stadiums in tiny markets, low attendance numbers, and wacky promotions and mascot races sponsored by the Main Street Bank between innings. The truth is Minor League Baseball is a half-billion dollar industry with a loyal fan base for major national marketers to connect with. Ad Age
