ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS5

DECSCRIPTION Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems Incorporated. Adobe's 2003 "Creative Suite" rebranding led to Adobe Photoshop 8's renaming to Adobe Photoshop CS. Thus, Adobe Photoshop CS5 is the 12th major release of Adobe Photoshop. The CS rebranding also resulted in Adobe offering numerous software packages containing multiple Adobe programs for a reduced price. Adobe Photoshop is released in two editions: Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Photoshop Extended, with the Extended having extra 3D image creation, motion graphics editing, and advanced image analysis features. Adobe Photoshop Extended is included in all of Adobe's Creative Suite offerings except Design Standard, which includes the Adobe Photoshop edition. Alongside Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Extended, Adobe also publishes Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, collectively called "The Adobe Photoshop Family" by Adobe. In 2008, Adobe released Adobe Photoshop Express, a free web-based image editing tool to edit photos directly on blogs and social networking sites. Photoshop CS5 was launched on April 12, 2010. In a video posted on its official Facebook page, the development team revealed the new technologies under development, including three dimensional brushes and warping tools. In May 2011, Adobe Creative Suites 5.5 (CS5.5) were released which have new versions of some of the applications. However, the Photoshop that comes with them which is labeled version 12.1 is identical to the concurrently released update for Photoshop CS5; version 12.0.4, except for support for the new subscription pricing that was introduced with CS5.5. Photoshop is available in the varies of languages such are Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian. While the Arabic, Greek, and Hebrew languages versions are available from Winsoft.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS5 SOFTWARE ADVANTAGES There are few advantages in using this photo editing software compared to others. It's truly impressive that Photoshop CS5 is successful at adding a lot of useful, engineering-heavy features in CS5, all while porting over to a new and stable Cocoa 64-bit code-base on OS X. And it's encouraging to see that a program that has no real competitors isn't just being phoned in. Against the on-going daytime drama of "Apple vs. Flash," Photoshop is still just a great program and CS5 is a worthwhile update for a broad cross-section of users. Besides that, local tone-mapping works very well plus it has HDR imagebased lights for 3D rendering which is perfect for 3D animations. While other advantages such are wet media brushes with 3D preview, Puppet Warp, 3D type and path features with Repouss and contentaware fill and the heal tools are exceptional are only can be understand by graphic artist who knows very well in using this software. Furthermore, new lens distortion correction with publicly updatable database, improved 3D texturing/mesh handling, has capable masking tools, has camera RAW 6 and its muchimproved noise reduction. DISADVANTAGES Every product has their pros and cons in impressing the consumers. The Adobe Photoshop has a few disadvantages in minor issues even though it takes a long time to notice. They are, it has low-res HDR Merge Pro preview which is very limit while the ghost suppression in HDR Merge Pro has problems. The 3D workflows still very finicky and has very weak Open EXR format handling besides the lack of good multithreading for many slow operations. It also has a wonky progress bars and they float above other programs when the CPU is busy. It is very disturbing if we want to do other works while waiting for it.

ORACLE DATABASE

DESCRIPTIONS The Oracle Database (commonly referred to as Oracle RDBMS or simply as Oracle) is an objectrelational database management system (ORDBMS) produced and marketed by Oracle Corporation. Larry Ellison and his friends and former co-workers Bob Miner and Ed Oates started the consultancy Software Development Laboratories (SDL) in 1977. SDL developed the original version of the Oracle software. The name Oracle comes from the code-name of a CIA-funded project Ellison had worked on while previously employed by Ampex. An Oracle database system is identified by an alphanumeric system identifier or SID and comprises at least one instance of the application, along with data storage. An instance; identified persistently by an instantiation number; comprises a set of operating-system processes and memorystructures that interact with the storage. Typical processes include PMON (the process monitor) and SMON (the system monitor). Users of the Oracle databases refer to the server-side memory-structure as the SGA (System Global Area). The SGA typically holds cache information such as data-buffers, SQL commands, and user information. In addition to storage, the database consists of online redo logs (or logs), which hold transactional history. Processes can in turn archive the online redo logs into archive logs (offline redo logs), which provide the basis (if necessary) for data recovery and for some forms of data replication. If the Oracle database administrator has implemented Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters), then multiple instances, usually on different servers, attach to a central storage array. This scenario offers advantages such as better performance, scalability and redundancy. However, support becomes more complex, and many sites do not use RAC. In version 10g, grid computing introduced shared resources where an instance can use (for example) CPU resources from another node (computer) in the grid. The Oracle DBMS can store and execute stored procedures and functions within it. PL/SQL (Oracle Corporation's proprietary procedural extension to SQL), or the object-oriented language Java can invoke such code objects and/or provide the programming structures for writing them.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF USING ORACLE DATABASE SOFTWARE ADVANTAGES The database software has its own advantages compared to other database software like SQL Server. They are the Oracle software is more reliable and has its capability of locking and concurrency. In effect Oracle has been designed for the worst case situation of lots of users reading and modifying the same data. It has lots of scope for tuning in that there are hundreds of tunable parameters. The Oracle software also has many uptimes with its users for its four major elements: Atomicity For the results of a specific transaction the execution airs either all engaged or retracted. Isolation The transactional results are not visible to other transacts until the transaction is finished. Consistency Databases go from one valid state to another valid state. Durability Results of a transaction have permanence.

DISADVANTAGES Every product has their own advantages and disadvantages in performing their tasks. One of them is the Oracle software takes longer to learn and not as simple. This problem may look simple to qualified professionals in using database software. Besides, it doesnt perform as well as other software such as SQL Server. Plus, this software costs a bit more including downtime cost.
