Policy Statements
Export Statement Infrared camera systems manufactured by FLIR Systems may not be exported without prior approval of the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce. It is the purchaser's responsibility to notify FLIR Systems of the intention to export at the time of purchase. FLIR Systems will not accept liability in the event that the purchaser is unable to obtain the required validated export license(s). Even though export licenses are not required for 9Hz cameras FLIR still has obligations to comply with US Export regulations. On quotations for 9Hz cameras the following statement needs to be made: These commodities are for commercial end use only. They may not be used in the design, development, production or use of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons or missiles The Export Administration Regulations require FLIR employees to not knowingly export products under the No License Required (NLR) method if the end user will use the products in the design, development, production or use of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons or missiles. Best Pricing Statement FLIR Systems policy is to implement a single-tiered price structure whereby all customers are treated in an equal and fair manner. This policy results from the fact that many of the companys customers are U.S. Government agencies and branches of the military. FLIR Systems government contracts require a most favored customer clause whereby FLIR Systems guarantees that it does not sell the same product in identical quantities at lower prices to anyone other than the U.S. Government. Providing a lower price to a commercial customer would result in FLIR Systems being liable to lower the price on future government sales, and to refund the difference in price on current government contracts. Product Warranty FLIR Systems warrants its Maritime products to be free from defects caused by faulty material or poor workmanship, for a period of two (2) year after delivery. NO PRODUCT IS WARRANTED TO BE MERCHANTABLE OR FIT FOR ANY PARTICULAR USE OR APPLICATION. The warranty is void if the buyer damages the item due to misuse, abuse, modification, processing, or integration with other items. FLIRs maximum liability under this warranty is limited to the obligation to replace or, at its sole option, to credit Buyers account up to the purchase price. Repairs Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) An RMA number is required for FLIR Systems to process returned products, whether the product is under warranty or out of warranty. RMAs and product returns must be coordinated through the FLIR Systems Client Services department. Return deliveries may be delayed or refused if an RMA number has not been obtained prior to the equipment being returned to FLIR Systems. An RMA does not constitute approval for services to be rendered. International returns must be coordinated in advance of shipment in order to adhere to import requirements. Limiting scope FLIR systems maritime products as mentioned in this catalogue are intended for use on vessels only. It is not allowed to sell or promote maritime products for other applications in general and fixed-mounted Security & Surveillance applications in specific. FLIR Systems manufactures specific products for these markets and is some cases FLIR Systems might have distribution arrangements in place with organizations that sell specifically into these markets.

Voyager Camera
Voyager is a mid range thermal and daylight imaging system designed to support navigation, port security, man overboard and medium range threat detection. Voyager features a completely new concept in image presentation based on the human eye. This patented foveal vision concept allows the operator to enjoy a wide angle view for situational awareness, while maintaining a high resolution area at the center of the screen for object identification and tracking. This is achieved by using two 320x240 thermal imagers, one with a narrow 140mm lens, and the other with a wide 35mm lens. These thermal imagers allow users to see clearly in total darkness, through smoke and light fog. The Voyagers daylight camera provides complimentary color camera visibility when conditions permit. In addition, the Voyager provides continuous zooming between lens settings in both thermal and daylight imagers. The Voyagers thermal and visible imagers are housed in a rugged enclosure designed to endure harsh marine conditions.

Mariner Camera
Mariner is a powerful thermal imager for maritime navigation, search and rescue and security applications. It gives vessel Captains the ability to see in both total darkness and light fog or smoke. Unlike other night vision systems that require low amounts of light to provide an image, the Mariner system features the same technology used by the military to operate in total darkness. The Mariner package includes a high resolution, longwave thermal imager integrated into a rugged, marinized pan and tilt enclosure which offers over 360 visibility with an intuitive joystick control. The live video from the Mariner can be displayed on most existing multifunctional displays or monitors. The system includes a cable kit engineered to accommodate most applications. A dual control station is available as an option. The Mariner system is designed for simple, intuitive operation. The basic system includes a marinized pan and tilt camera assembly and a remote joystick for steering the camera. Imagery from the camera can be displayed on a variety of video monitors; including most multifunction plotter/displays (MFDs) used with electronic navigation charts. The standard output is NTSC video, which is the same format used on common VCRs and TVs. FLIR can recommend a monitor that fits your application. A second joystick control and monitor station - Remote Control Accessory Kit - can be installed as an option in another location. The system runs on 12 VDC, and includes a wiring harness with instructions for installation.

Navigator Camera
Navigator is an economic thermal imaging system. It provides crisp, clear thermal imagery in total darkness and light fog or smoke. It features the same thermal imaging technology found in many of FLIRs most sophisticated maritime systems, but is packaged for users who have navigation as their primary application. Video from the systems can be displayed on virtually any existing multifunctional display and no special training is required. The user can clearly see channel markers, shipping lane traffic, outcroppings of land, bridge pilings, floating debris, people in the water and other vessels. Unlike other night vision systems that require low amounts of light to provide an image, the Navigator system features the same technology used by the military to operate in total darkness. The Navigator includes a high resolution 320 x 240 pixel longwave thermal imager integrated into a rugged, marinized enclosure. The live video from the Navigator can be displayed on a variety of video monitors; including most multi-function plotter/displays (MFDs). The system runs on 12 VDC.

9 Hz - Exportability Considerations
FLIR Systems tries to simplify the sale and tries to minimize the delivery time of its products by encouraging the use of 9 Hz versions of its products. Time-consuming export procedures belong to the past and allows FLIR to offer customers the best choice between performance and delivery time. Although full frame-rate products are still available, bringing 9 Hz detectors in our camera has given our customers some considerable advantages: SHORT DELIVERY TIMES: The days where you needed to wait months until your license was approved and your camera delivered are gone. USABILITY WORLDWIDE*: Customers are allowed to take their camera with them to whatever part of the world without being concerned about violating export license conditions. HIGH RESALE VALUE: 9 Hz cameras can be re-sold to anybody without the need for an approval for such a transaction. Full frame-rate cameras require an export license prior to resale to another party. NO MORE COMPLICATED ADMINISTRATION: There is no paperwork and no legal review required with FLIR Systems cameras that incorporate 9Hz detectors. RENT OUT YOUR CAMERA: If a customer wants to rent your infrared camera for a period of time, you are allowed to do this. Export of full frame rate (25 Hz) products is under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Commerce. In most cases, FLIR will apply for the export licenses. In order to obtain an export license, the ultimate consignee or end user of the infrared product must furnish an end-use statement on company letterhead to FLIR. The end user must also complete a BIS-711, Statement by Ultimate Consignee and Purchaser. This form is available on the internet at http://www.bis.doc.gov/Forms/FormsList.html. Quoted delivery times are based upon receipt of the validated export license from the Dept. of Commerce, which takes 8-10 weeks on average, depending on the end-use application, completeness of the end-use statement, and verification of the end-user.
