Production Test Pilot

Flight test duties included the design of experiments and flight test scenarios, collecting in-flight data, data reduction, analysis and flight test report writing. Detected, observed, and documented problems and surrounding conditions/parameters to facilitate effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Leveraged knowledge of aircraft systems design and operation to instruct pilots in test pilot procedures and duties via simulator and aircraft flight training. Accomplishments: Avoided potential litigation, while improving customer satisfaction by evaluating customer complaint that aircraft could not be trimmed beyond 200 kts. Test flew aircraft, determined that it matched flight test profile, and then flew with customer, tactfully demonstrating and explaining how to correctly trim aircraft. Recognized by DayJet for providing working atmosphere that fosters good customer relations and results in effective delivery/demonstration test flights. Ensured Production Flight Test department exceeded crewmember training requirements, while maintaining high level of standardization by designing, writing, and implementing PFT Training Program including comprehensive training manual, training documentation forms, and aircraft systems reference manual. Established standardized reporting, currency tracking, and flight squawk processes to assure quality of aircraft and accelerate troubleshooting by leveraging documented fixes of previous discrepancies. Developed software application and associated SQL database to support Production Flight Test department that greatly reduced maintenance time and improved interdepartment communication. Streamlined aircraft manufacturing fault tracking process, while ensuring efficient utilization of ATA codes by writing ATA Reference Manual, Metric Tool, and Business Requirements Document to reduce the cost of poor manufacturing quality.
